Pretty close. But he wouldn't trade Clyde. He always wants the team to trade the players that don't have real value (Webster, Outlaw, Blake) and somehow figures we'll get an All Star in return.

His trade would be trade Duckworth, Cliffy, and Danny Young for Hakeem.

I do agree. But if I'm being honest, I'm not beyond reproach either. In 1989 I may be watching the games in Acid Washed Jeans, with Nike Air Force I's (no laces), and I ghetto blaster on my shoulder bumping "Sucker MC's" . . . the 80's were tough on all of us!

But that's based entirely on your assumptions of the team's psyche. I put these blowouts forward simply to show that losses like last night's aren't necessarily symptoms of a larger psychological problem, no matter what the Monday Morning Quarterbacks say. You can still have a fantastic season.

The 1988-89 season had three large losing streaks: 5 (Jan 15-26 1989), 6 (Feb 9-24 1989), and 6 (Mar 21-31 1989). It was during the second streak that Schuler was fired.

THAT's a meltdown. NOT a single loss.

Not really a good comparison. All of those losses were against teams that finished as playoff teams or at lest .500 and all of those losses the Blazers were on the road. It's tough to find a give up a 31-2 run against one of the worst teams in the NBA on your own floor. There's not much else to say besides that was the most pathetic fucking half of basketball I have ever seen. Time to move on.

I noticed the same thing about all of those losses (road vs decent teams)

Yes, it was a brutally bad half. Disgusting display. However, I don't think you can say Memphis is one of the worst teams in the NBA. They looked pretty good last night. Not good enough to excuse a 31-2 run, but still pretty good.
