Key arena was a dump. The city didn't just spend a ton of money building Safeco and the stadium the Seahawks play in, the guy who bought the Sonics didn't have the track record of buying a team and *keeping* it in the market it was already in, there wasn't a group already formed *before* the team was sold making a point of saying they want to keep the team there, the NBA didn't go out of their way to keep two teams in their home towns (Sacramento and Clippers), and the group that bought the Sonics did not have a local connection to the city. And it'd not like Dallas can have a 2nd team there, nor was Raleigh the temp home of an NBA team, showing they are willing and able to host a team, nor is this ownership group best buddies with the commissioner.
So acting like the two scenarios are the same is intellectually dishonest.
