If there's no season...

I'm going to be a little bit of dick and do the "I told you so" routine: I remember bringing this very scenario up before last season's trading deadline and being called a troll and trying to get everyone upset.

The Blazers have painted themselves into a rather unpleasant corner and potentially face the prospect of losing whatever assets they had for essentially nothing. I hope that first round exit was worth it to everyone that so loudly and passionately argued for keeping the team together, because that could end up being the only payoff this team is going to enjoy for trying to go "all in" with Wallace instead of resetting the roster.

I was at Game 4. Easily the most thrilling sporting event I've ever been to. We lost the series . . . to the NBA Champs, and played them tougher than anybody else did along the way. You have to remember the predicament we were in. It's not like there was another deal out there that was going to set us up for the future with can't-miss prospects. When they announced the Wallace deal at the deadline, it felt like we fleeced Charlotte big time. Batum was the only commodity that anybody cared about on our roster. We just had too many injured (or coming back from being injured) players that nobody wanted near the deadline last season.

Yes, Wallace is rudundant to Batum, but it was by far the best deal available to us at the trade deadline, and fortunately we have an owner who grabs the best deal whenever he can.

I still thought there would be a season all along. People panic way too much around here.

All this chaos might have put pressure on Hunter at least.

Maybe my memory is failing me, but I feel like Gerald was more successful as a 3 this year than his stints at 4. I also think I read he prefers to play 3, so let him play 3...Batum can get his time off the bench, where IIRC, he had some good games after the trade.
