What I WANT... is to keep Crabbe, CJ, Dillard, Davis, Noah, and Plums as our core. No more attempts to trade them.
As for the rest, I could take or leave them, but I'll take the cannoli.
I'll go Crabbe, CJ, Lillard, Davis, Aminu, and Plums as our core. So, I basically agree.
To me, Vonleh hasn't shown enough. It's not obvious that he has a high ceiling. I'm still intrigued, but he may never be as good as Aminu is right now. Hence, not in my core.Shit I knew I was forgetting someone! But Aminu for me could be interchanged with other wing men of similar style (there are a few out there).
I would be fine with Aminu coming off the bench. I think he's a perfect bench guy. I'm just not thrilled with him as the starter.
Well, when we get Paul George and Kevin Durant for second round draft picks and cash, he can stay or go.
Man, Paul is gonna be great coming off the bench behind Durant. You've got it backwards, we're SIGNING Kevin Durant and we're TRADING second round picks and cash for Paul George.
I assume you're thinking that Lebron will be a 4 in our system.Man, Paul is gonna be great coming off the bench behind Durant.
I gotz mad MS Paint skillz, yo.I tagged @Denny Crane in your post because I want him to see that. Hilarious!

Nope.... Paul AND Durant will be great coming off the bench behind Aminu and Vonleh.
Good idea; steadying veteran mentors!
Dammit, stop derailing the thread, I want more Godfather talk!
Don't make me move this to the off topic section!

That seems a bit presumptuous. What makes you think he feels entitled to anything? He feels entitled, and that's fine. he's entitled to being on the bench somewhere else in the league.
Kaman likely is a cap hold, unless we renounce any bird type rights we have for him. We're not talking about roster spots, we're talking about cap space. Un-renounced free agents generate a cap hold that limits the amount of cap space available for signing free agents. As detailed in the OP, at least one, if not more, of our 3 free agents with large cap holds will have to be renounced in order to have enough available cap space to bring in a top-tier free agent.
Now that I have explained that for you, you're welcome to contribute to the thread.
What do you think are the chances of the Blazers having even a minute amount of interest in retaining Kaman's bird rights?Kaman likely is a cap hold, unless we renounce any bird type rights we have for him.

In any case, the assumption on which the OP was based was that ONLY Crabbe, Harkless, Leonard, and Henderson's cap holds are being considered, and that Roberts and Kaman were obviously being renounced.I don't know. But I also don't know why he's on the team now
I would think if NO wants to re-sign him, he'd do it as quick as possible and surely for less than he's paid now. That would reduce his cap hit to just his new salary instead of 100%+ of his previous salary.
impossible question to answer until we know what position the star plays.

So, long story short--Henderson. Got it.If we keep everyone's rights, then we will have $5,836,025 in cap space.
Renounce Kaman ($6,520,800). That gives us $12,356,825.
Renounce Roberts ($3,711,422). That gives us $16,068,247.
Now the tougher part comes. We need to free up about $27.6M for a mid-tier max player.
Renounce Henderson ($9,000,000). That gives us $25,068,247.
After that, Harkless or Leonard? Renouncing Crabbe doesn't do any good since his hold is minimum ($1,215,696). We have Bird rights to Harkless, Leonard, and Crabbe, along with them being restricted.
Best case, if we really want to keep Harkless, we should sign him first since he probably won't be making $7,235,148. Anything he signs for less than that will give us additional room to sign the max player. If we sign Harkless for $5M, then we've just freed up enough room for a max offer. Then we can go over the cap by signing Leonard and Crabbe if we choose to keep them.

Entitled to? Or would likely receive? There's a big difference between the two.well he felt like he was entitled to a bigger contract, no? either that or he wants to just be a FA, then fuck him anyway - or either way.
