Even Barrett said most of the fouls called for Westbrook were legit. Only a couple weren't.

but they weren't hard enough! with twin towers they should have been scraping Westbrook off the floor before his freethrows!

I agree that it was just a 2-3 bad calls, but what was irritating was it seemed to be on the plays where he obviously flopped and the one ref kept rewarding him for it. Once they started to ignore his acting, he never fell down again. Amazing how that works...........

It seems pretty obvious that Westbrook outplayed Lillard. But the important fact is the Blazers outplayed the Thunder. Westbrook by himself couldn't overcome Aldridge, Wes, Batum and the rest of the Blazers.

Losing Durant for awhile was a big hurdle for OKC . . . throw in Morrow, Jackson and the others and I think OKC will have a hard time winning games these first 2-3 weeks . . . even with Westbrook doing his thing.

Meanwhile I could see Lillard using last nigh'ts performance as motivation . . . so win/win for the Blazers.

Did I say that it was a lot of calls or that there is a conspiracy? There were 2-3 times where it was pretty obvious that he was doing the leg kick and falling to the ground on little, if any, contact.

Westbrook and Hardin are two of the best offensive players in the league and I just can't stomach that they've developed the flopping art to the point that they have and that they get rewarded for it as much as they do. The NBA said last season that they were going to crack down on it, but I sure don't see any evidence of it. I'd love to see the rules changed to where if any of the three refs think there's been an effort b a player to deceive the refs into calling a foul on a flop they can ask for a replay review. If the video supports the flopping call, the player is assessed a technical and the other team gets possession. That would put an end to the bullshit flopping, or at least dramatically reduce it.

That's what I'm saying as well. They are good enough to not have to rely on that bullshit tactic. Give shit like that to players that need edge like Crawful and others like him.

A pity. There might have actually been a meaningful discussion to have about Westbrook ... and then S2 do what S2 do.
I don't think I understand this post. I think there is plenty of rational and meaningful discussion in this thread. Along with S2 doing what S2 do. ;)

points made in this thread:

westbrook is a damn good basketball player
westbrook is a dick in a bag
lillard is a better team player
westbrook only played one solid half
lillard played a better second half
westbrook got 2-3 favorable calls... others were legit
the refs sucked for both sides. we got some calls for us that were terrible as well
roytoy has to be antagonistic, he is not a pro at being positive.
lastly, westbrook is a giant dick in a box.

How about this?

How about we return to this thread in about 20 games and see if Westbrook is still playing at this level? Something tells me he cannot continue to produce like that.

What level? A losing level? Sure he can continue to play like that.

He played at a very high level for most of the game. I feel he pushed himself extremely hard. The Team "OKC Thunder" lost the game not just Russel Westbrook. You have to be able to see the guy played very well for much of the game right?
My point is. Will his knees and the rest of his body take this kind of beating for 6 weeks and still produce?

Nope. A high level would be working in the first three quarters to get your teammates going, making them better, and then turning it on when necessary in the 4th quarter to WIN. Going all out one on one for three quarters and then choking in the fourth quarter is the work of an amateur.

Ok. So now a player that is a 3 time All-Star and a Player that has had 12 triple doubles in the NBA (not the OSAA mind you) in which his team won every one of those 12 games. Has played in 64 Playoff games and has had and in 4 of those he had Triple doubles. Has been to the Finals and beat the Spurs in the conference finals is an AMATEUR?
You are making yourself look foolish here. The dude can play the game at a very high level. No matter what your personal beliefs are. It seems you are letting your emotions cloud your intelligence.

Well I'm sure we get to see who's better since Durant lead OKC did well during Westbrook's absence.

And those achievements you mentioned weren't because of Westbrook, it was because of Durant and how clutch he is in the 4th.

You got a point there. It is a team game but to say Durant gave him his triple doubles and call him an amateur is a bit of a stretch.

Westbrook is an amazing talent. There is no argument there. But he is a mental midget and will be exposed during Durant's absence. I wouldn't be surprised if his team is a sub .500 team the next 6 weeks.

It's very easy to get Westbrook out of the game. You can easily get into his head.

Could not agree with you more! That is almost exactly what i was saying in my first comment. when i said how about we return in about 20 games and see what we have?
This is my point exactly.

Yeah rather have a guy that just walks to the locker room in the middle of the game, then accosts a fan?

Yeah sounds like a winner

Hey guys, there's a silver lining here.

Shooter keeps posting, the pic keeps showing up!
