<{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Everyone saying that LeBron will get paid more if he plays in a big market like New York, that's not true. Someone reported that a few years ago but it was proven false.</div>
LeBron's Nike deal expires in 2010. If he leaves for NYC, you don't think Nike will give him a more lucrative contract now that he's playing in a bigger market?
Bigger market = more exposure = more money for Nike = bigger contract for Bron (in theory). Of course, Nike would have to be willing to gamble that the bigger market would result in increased sales. If they think that will happen, LeBron will get a bigger contract. The fact that he'll be playing with Yi only adds to the likely-hood that LeBron's sales will increase.
I could just be talking out of my ass right now because I'm not well versed on contracts and things of that nature, but it seems plausible, no?
</div>
That makes sense because it would be a new deal. I'm just saying that it has been reported in the past that LeBron's current contract has a kicker in it that would give him more money if he went to a big market like New York and that has been proven to be false. So yes, going to New York and signing a new deal would equal more money for LeBron but as far as his current contract goes, it doesn't matter what city he is in.

True, but the fact that there's no kicker in his current contract is kind of irrelevant since it expires in 2010 anyway.
