No it didnt. You inferred without analysis.

No, I provided the analysis that you left out. Again, you don't care to actually provide a real, thought-out idea. You want the people responding to you to figure out the problems with your idea and solve them, otherwise they're being unfair and "inferring."

Put some actual effort in. Then I won't snark.

WHICH IS??? About trans being the same? Ive addressed that tooo. If thats your rebuttal, its you not paying attention…

Why dont you just address it clearly so us stupid people can understand?? ??????

How hard is respectful conversation and communication for some people???

utterly bizarre…

WHICH IS???

You misunderstand me. I wasn't saying you missed something I said--I was saying you left the analysis out of your original post (the one I "snarked" about), and left it to me to provide it. Which is your pattern--you don't put the necessary analysis into your ideas, you expect people responding to do it for you and if they don't, you complain that they're not being fair.

There definitely should be a trans section. Trans men and trans women are basically the same thing, just like gay women and gay men are the same thing. And if you're the only trans swimmer in your school or conference, tough luck. God didn't intend for you to swim.

i addressed the bold three times.

regarding numbers… yes tough luck.
You know what?

many schools don't have certain sports and activities due to lack of numbers.

Your snark is uncalled for and unproductive. And you have the gall to tell me to be better???

Just have a respectful conversation. Is that so fucking difficult?

Trans athletes in Thailand have competed with men in kickboxing for a long time....I think they had a superstar kickboxer who was trans......they compete in the male competitions though from what I saw...not the female bouts. That's gone on for a long, long time.
It would make since for tran girl compete against men then trans guy compete against women.
It would be more fair imo.

the reason wrestlers and fighters have weight classes is for fairness.

again, bullshit. Weight classes in swimming would entail enough numbers for them.m to compete.
How is that not addressing your claim to my suggestion being so illogical it deserves your snark?? Your snark was moot with weight classes.

How pompous to dismiss my suggestion as ridiculous and throwing shit at wall that i should be better.

Besides throwing shit at walls and seeing what sticks has solves many a problem.

Just say yeah i didn't have to come off that way and could have asked how we would get around a lack of numbers to compete…

Its more respectable than to double down on arrogance…

One college swimmer.

This doesn't seem like a problem.

Also wouldn't segregating trans athletes into separate teams open them up to Title 9 protections? Wouldn't that mean colleges and universities would have to offer just as many sports as they do for men and women?

And if being better means posting down to people.. im glad SlyPokerDog is such a loser idiot…

its like some of you don't really read the suggestions? Weight classes would not separate transgendered athletes from non.
It would be weight classes for all.
Regarding the one student not really being a problem. First, there is always a first. Until there are more.
And not being a problem now?

tell that to these people…

So what would be the weight classes for football and basketball? Track? Soccer? You start making rules and regulations for trans athletes I'm pretty sure they would have to apply to all athletes. Would these rules be designed to only protect the non transathletes or would we look to protect the transathletes too? Men transitioning to females wouldn't have a competitive advantage in women's gymnastics or figure skating. Would we still separate them?

And yes, I was the one who posted the first article about the swim team members and their thoughts about their transgendered teammate. Seems like this will hurt their future recruiting.

They would apply to all athletes. I don't think many people have an issue with a transgender on a team sport, as much as they do individual. Many individual sports have classes based on various factors like weight.

Or how about they continue to compete against the gender they would have prior to their change?

Forgive me for my atrocities as brainstorming ideas for discussion without thinking every detail out and dictating what should happen like some know it all.
I appreciate you asking questions and discussing ideas.
Its largely how most people learn.

So if I'm a man who doesn't weigh a lot I get to compete against mostly females?

I'm not sure that really solves the supposed problem you are aiming to fix!

brilliant! Do away with gender specific sports and go by weight only!

again. Nooo no one said that.

try again….

Well, what exactly is your proposal then?

Right. Im suggesting the addition of weight classes as a possible solution?

where in either of these posts do i insinuate removing the gender clause?

I was guessing, since it doesn't make much sense to have weight classes only for transgender people.

I notice you didn't want to answer my question. What is your proposal? Heavy transgender people compete with men but light ones compete with women?

That adds so many more problems than it solves.

barfo

He wants to introduce weight classes for sports that already have them.

Well, that's a good idea then! We should definitely do that.

you were guessing. Without a question or a quote…no passive aggressive sarcasm at all right?

okayyy…..

To answer your question, no.
Leave it just as it is for individual sports like swimming.
But add weight classes. Women vs women and men vs men. With weight classes.

I thought mentioning boxing and wrestling previously would have indicated this was my suggestion…i apologize for not being more clear.

wtf????

you just said swimming doesnt have weight classes earlier?? Ive said im for adding weight classes??

its saturday. Are you guys on drugs? Did i fall into a rabbits hole????

Again, I just don't see the need to restructure sports at every college or university with a swim team because of one transgender person.

I am 100% on board with Trans athletes competing against men. That's where they should be.
