Don’t edit the misgendering; seeing it lets me know who thinks trans people are subhuman. That’s useful information. If you’re worried about how it makes the forum look to have users repeatedly indicating trans people are subhuman, there’s a better way to fix that, and you know it.

FYI i dont think trans are subhuman at all, i just dont think they should be competing against females. I also dont think they should be taking scholarships form females either.
And for my post to be editted is garbage. for those of us that have supported Trump the last 7 years we have been called much worse then misgendered.
WE have been called rapist/racist/deplorables/nazis/fascists/etc. Not one of those were editted, can those please be editted ot edit my post back to the science based pronoun.

I don't need a law (which can be abused) to be involved at all.

If anybody is being inappropriate to children they should be held accountable, regardless of their gender. We already have laws to cover that.

A man in women’s restrooms IS inappropriate. Period. End of story. You don’t need any “lets just wait to see what happens and we will go from there” disclaimers. The line is already crossed when HE enters HER restroom.

So what's your plan to prevent the line from being crossed? Genitalia checks outside every restroom in the country? State-issued restroom passes?

We are gonna need a lot more immigrants to staff up that effort.

When men start telling us what goes on in women's bathrooms I find it suspect to say the least...I mean, how would they even know unless they themselves frequently use women's bathrooms?

Just simple laws on the books to protect biological women’s right to privacy. Nothing crazy, no big fines or jail time. Just keep it simple.

Side note, it’s funny how you cannot address this without over the top hyperbole that purposely distracts from the issue.

There is no need for a law which can be abused regarding this issue.

If there is a problem then we should institute codes that require universal bathrooms with completely private individual stalls as has been discussed on this very thread already.

It's a much better solution for everybody involved and it doesn't give the government the right to be in our bathrooms.

I am personally for limiting government overreach. What you are complaining about is not actually a problem, according to all available data.

You are inviting government into our personal lives, and I simply do not support that without emergency necessity, and even then, only temporarily.

There are solutions that do not require targeting individuals who have committed no crimes. I will not support anything of the sort until all other options have been tried and then only if they have failed.

And in this case, there is nothing to solve, except people's feelings. So I think a code requiring updated restrooms is a much more fitting solution.

Straining private businesses millions of dollars of infrastructure changes to pacify .003% of the population who are confused about their gender while neglecting women, who are 50% of the population, and their right to privacy is not “a better solution” sorry. It’s insanity you can’t even quantify. Stop this childish bullshit. Go in the fucking bathroom you were biologically assigned to.

The government can fund it. It'll be great for jobs. And I'd much prefer to have better privacy anyway. The universal restrooms with personal stalls are far superior and more efficient, as people can use all of the facilities rather than only half of them.

No, I actually listed several other reasons it should be done. It's just that it also happens to address the issue of bigots complaining about this thing that doesn't cause any problems.
 
I am a scientist. Biologist in fact. Focused on genetics. Enough to know gender and genetic sex don't always align.
I doubt Nancy Mace is a biologist.
I will no longer engage in debate with someone who deliberately misgenders.

The universal bathrooms/stalls idea is awful man. I appreciate you actually engaging with ideas btw, but my point stands. Women dont want to share bathrooms with men.

They are awesome. So much better than dedicated mens/womens.

Vastly more efficient, so much more privacy. Lines are much less of an issue.

What is the gender of people who are intersex?

Does being intersex affect my sexual orientation?
Being intersex doesn’t affect whether you’re straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual or asexual or have another sexual orientation. It’s also not the same as being transgender. A person who is transgender identifies with a gender that’s different than the sex they were assigned at birth. A person who is intersex may be transgender if their gender identity doesn’t match the sex they were assigned or raised as.

Is a person who is intersex a hermaphrodite?
No. Hermaphrodites don’t exist. That is an outdated term implying that a person is both fully male and fully female, which isn’t biologically possible. In fact, many people who are intersex consider that term derogatory and stigmatizing. Intersex and being intersex are the correct terms.

Do people who are intersex need surgery or treatment?
If you’re a person who is intersex, you don’t typically require any surgery (unless you choose it).

In the past, children who were intersex have been given surgery to make their genitals match the sex they were assigned at birth or to remove reproductive anatomy (like gonadal tissue) that doesn’t match their assigned sex. These intersex surgeries often take place before a child is 2 years old.

More recently, people who are intersex and advocates have spoken against intersex surgeries, calling them unnecessary. They want parents to let their children choose whether to get surgeries or treatments — and which ones — when they’re old enough to make that choice.

Many organizations, including the American Academy of Family Physicians, support intersex people in making decisions about their bodies. This means waiting until a person is old enough to give informed consent.

  • Changes during puberty that don’t align with your assigned sex (such as a person who was AMAB developing breasts).
