There are “universal” bathrooms at our junior high school. It feels like a huge mistake, for kids. The amount of things that can go wrong seem significant.

As a grandparent, parent and retired teacher who's taught in two countries and 3 states I've never seen a sexual assault or misconduct in a school bathroom from transgendered people or any people on staffs I've worked with but I have many stories about knives and guns being taken away from kids at school. I think your fears are misguided and you have a bit of a double standard about being a Trump supporter and claiming to be called a rapist around here. It's your candidate of choice that has the support of nazis, fascists and racists because he's empowered them. He only aims the rape accusations at dark skinned people and wonders why more northern europeans don't emigrate to the US...go figure. Mods here would never allow you to be called a rapist for your political leanings though they may allow your candidate to be called one...he was actually convicted of sexual assault after all.( correction, this section about Trump was in response to #Galakelife, not #GoZers)

It must not be the design we discussed above? If so, there is not much that can go wrong.

That’s the same exact concept.
- Girls and boys meet at the bathroom, get in stall
- Someone forgets to lock stall
- Embarrassed by something that happens in stall

again this is at a junior HS. I don’t see how it’s a good idea. There should always be a girls, boys, and have a neutral bathroom. Seems logical

Also, my point has zero to do with trans. This junior high bathroom is for everyone. So girls and boys all use it. To me this is a recipe for disaster. Because 11-13 year old boys and girls don’t make great decisions. As a teacher you should know this.

That simply doesn't happen any more often.

No complaints at Grant High School, and my daughters have known several girls who attend. Separating them is horribly inefficient.

It shocks me that you don’t think girls and boys will coordinate meeting up in the bathroom stall. It’s like a dream come true. Or that a girl might be having a personal issue going on and Timmy is walking in when she’s walking out and she’s mortified.

Girls and boys can do that now. They could also do the exact same thing in the "neutral" restroom. Or for that matter the mens restroom. It's not exactly hard to get into the handicap stall.

The personal issue is no more of a concern in this situation than exiting the girls bathroom into the multi gender hallway.

Most kids have cell phones to call a friend or the front office for help if needed.

The Grant style restrooms and a few others with private stalls have been the absolute best restrooms I've used, and I've never had to wait in line to use one.

It works incredibly well.
 
Ohio has banned trans people from all public and private school restrooms, kindergarten through college. Bill sponsored by Christian organization because of course. I Orwellian fashion it is called Protect All Children Act.
Because we all know what is killing our young people. Not fentanyl or guns or suicide or abuse or sexual assault or lack of opportunity. No, trans students urinating.

Except that he wasn’t. He was found financially liable in a civil case. They knew they’d never get an actual conviction because there was zero evidence so they had to use this workaround to sow public dissent and get people like you to say false things like you just did.

yes he was convicted of sexual assault, just not convicted of rape and Jean Carroll won the case and has been awarded millions in damages...not sure where you get this false disclaimer from but it's false...just because he's getting his other felonies swept under the rug doesn't change the case he lost when NOT protected by presidential immunity. I don't know why you'd go to bat for Trump given your stance on protecting women from sexual deviants ...Trump did it in a dressing room, not a toilet, so I guess that's the difference? Weren't you talking about women's rights to privacy recently?

The only reason he wasn't found liable for rape is because he only penetrated her with his fingers rather than his penis. And in New York (until this year) to be considered rape penetration had to occur with the penis.

So in New York, the only people who could be found guilty of rape (according to New York law) were men. Everything else was sexual abuse.

In New York “sexual assault” is a general term to describe any of several sex crimes that involve the nonconsensual touching or contact of sexual nature. Criminal offenses that are types of sexual assault include rape, criminal sexual act, sexual abuse, and predatory sexual assault.

So he was, in fact, found legally liable for an act of sexual assault by a court of law.

And if the case were tried again, he would be found liable for rape. As New York just changed their law to be more in line with most of the rest of the country.

There is no free speech in a privately owned forum.

But we do have a few rules that we try to enforce.
