Im going to invest in a 360.

the bad thing about xbox is their customer service blows, my 360 broke like 3 weeks ago and I still havent gotten it back so I called em up to ask where it was and they said they were replacing hardware in the system to prevent the "red ring of death" and it would take another 4-6 weeks before I get it back.

So far this is my bill: (All prices CAN, all prices including tax)1 xbox elite $6322 wireless controllers $137wireless adapter $150quick charge kit $45gold subscription $67Gears of War $73Total: $1104 give or take a couple 50 dollars.Thats pretty expensive.However a PS3 with tax (60 gb) is $631 ontop of that, all games START at $50. and the wireless controlles cost about the same. The only thing im paying more for is adapter, charge kit, and gold membership. which is about 250 dollars. However you get better games and better online play, I dont really mind that. And to add, I dont like any PS3 games so it kind of evens out for me. Also,Do I need the fan for elite?

Didn't read the whole thread, but here's my answer:Buy a premium 360, and definitely get Xbox Live. It's $60 for the entire year, and it is more than worth the price, especially if you play a lot. You won't get the most out of the 360 unless you have Xbox Live. If you want a cooler, buy a stand fan (it's $10, and works beautifully). The intercooler or any cooler you attach to the back of your 360 is absolutely worthless, and has been proven to cause problems with the 360.Game-wise I would get Gears of War, Halo 3 (pre-order) and wait for NBA 2k8, etc. Also, if you play a lot, then get a membership with GameFly... it's $15 a month for one game, $22 for two games. It is definitely worth it.Also get a decent pack of rechargeable batteries for the wireless controllers. Don't buy those crappy plug-and-play kits that Microsoft sells... they are worthless.If you want your 360 to connect to your wireless router, you'll have to buy a wireless adapter for the 360, and it runs around $100.EDIT: BUY THE ELITE AT YOUR OWN RISK. THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH THEM. Some of them were made with refurbished parts... but I think that was just the first batch. Just be careful with it... but it is worth it money-wise.

O by the way, a PS3 is actually cheaper. The PS3, one game, 2 wireless controllers, and a charge kit, it costs around $863

If you don't but the adapter, you have to connect your Xbox to the router with an ethernet cable.
