I'm Starting to Like Hibbert!

It's called "humor".

Hibbert is a name that comes up fairly often in trade talks, so I was having a little fun with it.

Sheesh! Tough room!

Batum for hibbert. Done and done
I would love to see a Batum Hibbert deal. Both teams get something badly needed and the salary matches. I really don't want to go through another season with Rolo as the starter. We have to upgrade the weakest position in our starting five and that's clearly the C position.

I'm impressed he posted re-sign instead of resign.

Seriously, nice job BGD!

I would've taken both resign and re-sign. However, I have to give him credit he didn't go "resing"

BlazerEdger nice to have u here.. I got banned by that nazi site years ago

I don't know if Hibbert would be any better than Rolo. Slightly better on defense, much worse on offense, slow and lumbering with the same problems against quick opponents. Then losing Batum as well; just seems unlikely it improves the team at all. If we first acquire a good SF I suppose I'd be more interested. I'd rather have Greg Monroe or DeAndre brought in than Hibbert. Yes all of them have big weaknesses in their games just think the latter two have more potential to be a key piece on a contender.

In crunch time we're going to often be going small with LaMarcus at the 5 and all of those centers on the bench. Nic is real good alongside Aldridge in those lineups. We may be better off adding a guy in the 6'5" to 6'9" three and D mold. Iggy is intriguing depending on how much salary we have. He's way overpaid but after next season will be an expiring contract.

I wouldn't have a problem with this. However Rollo is a fan favorite and sometimes it's hard to trade fan favorites.

That's why you go Nic for Roy. Rolo as the backup. Then do whatever it takes to trade end of bunch guys for a Nic replacement. We have enough ball movement and spot up shooting. Roy will make up for Nics rebounding loss but provide MUCH better interior D than we have ever had.
Im not sold on wanting to keep Nic because he has a contract year. He is gonna screw us again if we keep and try to re-sign. Trade now while he has value.

Trade Nic and all of the (limited) offense we get from the C position will dry up. Hibbert without Nic will be awful. However, Hibbert WITH Nic could produce 8-10 ppg.

Hey mods, you should make this new poster change his name. Really.

His value has never been lower...if you trade Nico you want to do it in Feb at the deadline as an expiring contract and then we don't have the rights to trade anybody else unless you totally gut the team by trading CJ and Meyers. Doesn't make sense because you don't have chips to upgrade from my perspective. Guys are going to walk this summer more than likely. Some may do sign and trades but in Batum's case...you trade him when he's increasing his value, not after his worst season.

Hibbert's value has gone down since his horrible playoff showing the previous year and his lockerroom problems in Indy. I really wanted him here when Indy matched but since, I'm not sure he's better than Rolo, Kaman and Freeland in the rotation for about the same money

Lopez and Kaman got much worse when they played the second half of the season injured. Critics will be surprised next time they see them play.

You match Hibbert up with a guy like Aldridge and Hibbert will play like the all star center he should be!

Adding a mere comma means that I don't have to read it thrice to understand it.

So if we added someone better who is a borderline Allstar such as DeAndre or Monroe maybe they look like a hall of famer.

Hibbert paired with Aldridge will be dynamic. Remember ROLO was just an average player before he came to Portland. Playing next to Aldridge will do wonders for a center.

I still dream of the Hibbert and ROLO duo, while Aldridge and Leonard play PF.

Definitely better than they were. DeAndre would beast with all that attention on Aldridge.

We have already seen what DeAndre can do playing alongside a good PF. I wouldn't expect significant change in Portland. Monroe, OTOH, has been playing in a bad situation - so improvement would be possible.

Maybe...but Hibbert's problems appear to start above the neck. (or maybe between the ribs)

This is the trade suggestion that Will Not Die. At this point Indy would give Hibbert away to anyone who would take him. I predict (again) that he will go to Philly along with draft picks and a pile of cash for the cap space.

If we really want Hibbert, we need a bunch of non-guaranteed contracts to offer. Given that they have Paul George, we'd probably be better off offering Meyers.

I'd trade Rolo for a few centers without Hibbert in the mix. Vucevic, Gobert, Gortat or Steven Adams
