Leaving the mod squad.

Why you ask?

There's a few reasons.

1) I would rather just go back to being a poster. Done the mod thing for a couple years now, but it's time to give it a rest.

2) There has been a heated debate over how this forum (specifically the Blazers forum) should be moderated. Some of us want stricter rules about personal attacks and trolling. Others do not. I personally did not want to be the cop without the metaphorical gun any longer.

Anyway, I figured I owed you all an explanation for abdicating the throne. I'm not leaving the site. I still want to talk hoops, I just don't want to be the bad guy anymore.

Since Nik is also tired, it sounds like the job hours should be reduced. The useless heated debate, invisible to us posters, should stop. The board is fine as is.

Is there no way that an update can be installed on the site so that when a poster is placed on the ignore list his threads do not show up?

That is the simple solution to this entire problem. If the people who hate Mixum (me included) could have it so he simply is gone from the board when we "Ignore" him, there would be no more of these problems.

The Mod's can say "Just Ignore him and don't read his threads when you place him on the list", but thats like your Mom and Dad telling you to ignore your annoying younger sibling when he is continually trying to annoy you, it's just not possible to when you can still always see him there.

I liked interacting with you as a poster more than as a mod; and you know too well how people treat your words differently as a mod. Same with Nik. While it may leave the remaining mods overworked, I'm glad you're staying as a poster.

Mixum, you don't bother me. It's true you are unremittingly negative, but I find cynicism amusing. I think you would be less visible to your opponents if you started fewer threads.

Just dominate the old-fashioned way. Hijack existing threads. Just change the subject subtly, and stay on the track you want a thread to go. That's how everyone else does it. Pretty soon, everyone forgets how the thread began.

gimme a break. People hate you because you disrupt the board and generally any positive thread on it. You re-post the same negative topic 4 or 5 times slightly re-worded, and make sure to bring up the same point in other threads, to try to derail them. You push negativity and troll like hell, but get coddled and supported by bullshit mods. I agree with the above of figuring out a way to allow the site to block threads started by people on your ignore list. It doesn't help to "just ignore them" when every other thread gets derailed, or half of the conversation in a thread is a back and forth on this inane bullshit. You're an obnoxious prick who gets off on pushing negativity into an otherwise positive aspect of people's lives(entertainment).
