For the record, he is indefinitely banned. Last time, I suspended him for a week, and the software lifted the suspension when the week lapsed. This time I did a permanent type ban. An admin can undo it at any time, but I won't be that admin.

I expect it to remain in force.

The whole thing that went down with mix was in the thread where one of the mods stepped down. He got baited, mainly by a poster who i have seen bait others including myself, and then got banned. The explanation in the thread wasn't great other than that he violated the core rules of the site (which, imo, most everyone does). I think its dumb on a internet forum to try and police it like its a grade school. I get so sick and tired of talks about personal attacks on here and posts/threads getting edited for personal attacks. For one, they arent policed properly at all, and two, who the fuck cares? This is the internet, not real life. We are not in Mr. Linus Oey's 9th grade honors algebra class at La Salle Prep here... I think some people take this shit way too seriously.

A bunch of fragile and judgemental posters spearheaded a two-prong attack to get rid of him.

1) Hijack most threads by MIXUM to make them about MIXUM, and then whine to the mods for the threads being about MIXUM.
2) Bait/troll MIXUM by continually starting threads about him, or even worse, consistently posting his personal information, and then crying to the mods when MIXUM dares try to post to them.

I find it hilarious, because about 5 posters out-trolled MIXUM, and ultimately got him banned.

No one liked him, he was an annoying troll. Deal with it and move on.

Ed jumped right into the power vacuum that was created when Minstrel gave up his oversight.

I imagine the remaining mods are on an even shorter leash than the posters.

It reminds me of what my managers used to say to me when I was a young, green whippersnapper trying to make my way in the world of the Fortune 500. We'd think that the higher-ups were being tough on us underlings, but it always amazed me how much of the negative stuff my good managers took on themselves and didn't share with most of the group.

The bad managers, of course, piled on us right along with the higher-ups.

Hey I'm going to go ahead and merge this thread into Nate's original stepping down one since both threads are pretty much about the same thing. While it's important that for those who want to discuss Mixum being banned because hopefully in the end it while help to make the forum better I just don't think we need two threads covering it.

Disagree. That was the cause and this thread is the effect. The game is not the same thing as the post-game analysis. That thread was about a mod quitting and this thread is about a ban.
