I'm The Knicks GM

Ok, i'm the GM for that off-season game. I've just signed Darious Miles for 4 year, 23 million dollar contract. I've just offered a trade to the Spurs GM:


San Antonio trades: SF Robert Horry (4.8 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.3 apg in 15.9 minutes)
PG Tony Parker (14.7 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 5.5 apg in 34.4 minutes)
San Antonio receives: C Nazr Mohammed (7.4 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 0.5 apg in 20.1 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -12.1 ppg, -0.7 rpg, and -6.3 apg.

New York trades: C Nazr Mohammed (7.4 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 0.5 apg in 20.1 minutes)
New York receives: SF Robert Horry (4.8 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.3 apg in 81 games)
PG Tony Parker (14.7 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 5.5 apg in 75 games)
Change in team outlook: +12.1 ppg, +0.7 rpg, and +6.3 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to San Antonio and New York being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. San Antonio and New York had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.



Anybody know what I should get next?

First off, I don't see why the Spurs would trade Tony Parker. He is their only PG and you didn't even throw in Frank Williams to balance it up a bit. Besides, why would the Spurs need Nazr Mohammed? He isn't really much of an upgrade over Rasho Nesterovic.

From the Knicks' POV, this trade makes no sense too. When you have Stephon Marbury at point guard, would you go out and trade for another top 10 PG? Also, Nazr Mohammed is the only center we have besides 125 year-old Dikembe Mutombo. The trade will not bring in any centers and that is a situation no GM wants to get into.

I am not trying to diss you or anything, but I think your deals are extremely lopsided and will leave a bad impression on the other GMs. I would advise you to review your trades carefully and make sure that the opposing GM would appreciate your trade and offer too. Then again, that's just me, and I'm not the GM of the Knicks, so swing away.
