We shouldn't have to rely on people not actively in the government for advice on how to handle a situation. Especially people that suck at their job. The Systems should be in place to prevent such a reliance.
Kushner meets with Henry Kissenger all the time to learn about foreign affairs ….is Kushner relying on someone not active in govt? The US navy used Tom Clancy as an advisor for naval submarine tactics and situations...Clancy was not a govt official either.

They shouldnt have security clearance.

They shouldnt have security clearance.
yeah...in my view nobody in Trump's cabinet should have a security clearance including Trump.....those should be given to people with a history of honesty. Trump sure hasn't earned one

It's called gathering all the evidence. How long did Benghazi take and nothhing to show for it. I want justice. You want exoneration regardless of evidence.
I'm not sure who you are responding to but I've read a post from DaLincolnJones where he expects a guilty verdict. I may be wrong but I thought he might be indicating agreement with that potential verdict.

Then why try and push for an end to an investigation before it is done? Through my interactions with him his actions often speak differently than some of his words as he goes out of his way to pretty much defend all things Trump.

I guess I missed the part where he's calling for an end to the investigation. Hey, I'm only human. Yeah, hard to believe but believe it or not, I'm not a super human.

What the Hell is your president seeking to gain by denying one of the most honorable Americans his security clearance?

John Brennan is an honest, honorable American patriot.

The honorable James Clapper is on the list next!!!!

REALLY???

Please give me logic.
There is only one logical answer. Trump never thinks his decisions are wrong. He is the narcissist king. That is one of the reasons he allies himself with Putin; because he is rich and thinks of his own self first.

I will have to look it up, if you want specifics. In general terms, there was a husband and wife team I believe...he was compromised somehow, when asked about on the ground , in place spy assets he made some stupid statement about having her in place at that time..ended up blowing her cover..her name got to the media..not a good situation.

I think I found it, something about Yemen in 2012. At first glance it looks pretty complicated, but maybe I'll read up on it later.

He put one of our operatives on the line and out in the open? That's hard to believe.
...what does that have to do with security clearance?

What does leaking classified information to your employer who broadcasts it to our enemies have to do with being trusted with a security clearance?

Did you seriously ask that, or did someone edit your post?

This is what I call unproductive feedback. In fact, it's counterproductive.

Try rephrasing that a little more acceptable.

Actually, it's as simple as treason.

Actually, it is not that simple at all.

The story as I understand it... A former FBI agent (and pedophile) leaked classified information to the press about an airline bomb threat from al queda in Yemen.

The government tried to convince the AP not to publish the story, but they did anyway. The problem with the AP publishing the story was that it made it sound as if there was an imminent threat to air travel, which there was actually not. What the AP (and the leaker, maybe?) did not know was that it was a CIA operation, not a real bomber threat.

Brennan was assigned to do cleanup - the government didn't want people freaking out about a non-existent threat.
What Brennan did was tell some security analysts that the situation was under control. He didn't reveal classified information, but one of the analysts put 2 and 2 together and announced on air that we had a mole in al queda in Yemen.

That caused the CIA to have to halt the operation, which might otherwise have gone on longer.

Nobody deserves any medals for this, but it is probably not treason.

...uhhh, the question was about "getting paid for leaks"...please try to keep up...or did someone edit your post?

This sounds like the plot of 'Burn After Reading' or something. One of my all time favorite movies and I think one of Brad Pitts best roles. I know it got bad reviews, but I really have no idea why.

I liked that movie. It really shows the versatility of Pitt's acting.
