Posted this yesterday. 67% of the time the team that wins game 3, when the series is tied 1-1, goes on to win the series.

The Rangers have won 11 consecutive Game 3's on the road, dating back to the Patrick Division Finals in 1992 against Pittsburgh.

The Rangers have posted a 14-3 series record in the last 17 playoff series in which they won Game 3, dating back to the ECQF in 1994 against the Islanders.

The loser of game 3 faces pretty much a must win in game 4, so that's another reason game 3 is big.

And since we lost game 1, if we lose game 3 we'd be down again in the series, and you like to be the team taking the lead in the series putting the pressure on the other team. You rather not be the team always trailing in the series.

Game 3 is big.

On the baseball side Joe Torre always said that game three was the biggest game of the series. So much less pressure in game four if they take this game tomorrow night.

Totally. The winner of game 3, when the series is tied 1-1, gets a clear edge (that's why 67% go on to win the series). Up 2-1, no crazy pressure in game 4, have a shot to get into a dominant position with a game 4 win, and knowing the other team needs to win 3 of the next 4 games to beat you.

In most of these long series we have been up 2-1, so tomorrow night is big. Not a must win, just need to get home 2-2 worst case, but it is big. The winner tomorrow night has the inside track in this series.

Edge to the team that wins game 3 when tied 1-1 in the series.

Very disappointed Rangers lost Game 3.....so, according to
the above findings, Rangers have a 33% of taking this series.
A stat that puts the kabosh on the Rangers advancing.

Just watching how this team is playing vs Caps is reason
enough.

Unless Lundy 'shoots' shutouts, the team in front of him
is not 'shooting' the pucks into the Caps' net at a reasonable
rate........these Rangers will not be advancing.

Puts the kabosh on the Rangers advancing? Good lord this team did it just last year! In fact, they did it down 3-1, not just 2-1! And they did it after getting shut out in back to back games! I cant fuck with this place anymore.

Wow. The Caps are not last year's Pens.

I can see being upset but just giving up is absurd

They don't know any different Mess. Are you surprised? We lose a game in November and the board jumps ship...LOL.

Giving up? Just do not like what I see.

Last year rangers lost game 2 and game 3 by combined score of 5 to zero
