The more I see trade Dame threads, the less faith I have in the fan base. It's insane first of all. Second of all I am a person who believes Dame and CJ can play together just fine, we just need to get rid of some pieces for quality starters, defense. For what both Dame and CJ lack in defense, they more than make up for in offense. We don't need big time players, just quality players. Harkless can stay, I think they should consider moving plumlee to PF and adding a nerlens noel. I feel like thats a great start. Add Nerlens and move plumlee to PF and that squad is built for fast breaks and would be fun to watch. Easy buckets. At this point consider trading anybody except for Dame,CJ, Plumlee, and Harkless. Maybe Turner too. I hate his contract but his playmaking and defense is pretty valuable. Can go on scoring runs of his own as well. Pretty crafty at the rim/mid.

Between last year and this year CJ McCollum is averaging nearly 28 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists with 50%FG when Lillard is out.

Our roster is not balanced at all and if we can get equal return from Lillard we should explore the possibility of trading him.

McCollum is a more efficient scorer, a better ball handler and a better defender.
He only needs to get to the three throw line more.

I don't care how much Lillard loves the community (i only care about winning) and i don't care if he returns @GS and drops 50 on Curry, it is clear to me that the Dame/CJ duo is not sustainable on defense.

If we could get the guarantee that Cousins would re-sign with us i would trade Lillard for him in a heartbeat.

Imagine if teams double-team Cousins on the block with the super-efficient McCollum wide open on the perimeter...

I named Cousins but the same could be said for other frontcourt guys of the same tier of Lillard.
defender sticks to cj and one sags off aminu so he can catapult a low percentage 3. great plan with 0 holes.

cousins has brought his team to how many playoffs series? dame? thanks for playing

Wow, really????? Let's ignore the fact that DEN would need to dump another $22.2 million a year in salary on us to make that trade work, do you really want to trade a guy who averages 26 ppg for one that averages 13 ppg?

Also, in your scenario, you move our best bench player into the starting line up. I get that Jokic is young, but that trade makes both our starting line up and our bench worse. Is your goal here to go 5-36 for the rest of the season and hope we win the draft lottery?

The fact you value dame at such a low point to trade for jokic or Jabari Parker is the craziest shit I have ever heard, thank god you aren't a gm

To even suggest moving Lillard for a head case like Cousins should at the very least constitute a permanent ban, and in my opinion castration as well.

Dame is Portland. I hope we keep both.

Below is Bleacher Report’s Jan. 9th 2017 player power ranking, for point guards.

Obviously, some reporters and probably some GMs have a much different opinion about Dames value than some of our fans do. I am not saying I agree with this list, but I do believe Dame’s trade value at a loaded position may not be as great as many on this site think. Defense, or lack of, is what lowers Dames value to #9 at his position.

I’m guessing with the amount of talent at PG, we are stuck with Dame. So deal with it.

1) Westbrook
2) Harden
3) CP3
4) Curry
5) Lowry
6) Wall
7) Walker
8) Irving
9) Dame
10) Conley
11) I Thomas
12) Hill
13) Bledsoe
14) Dragic
15) Teague
16) R Jackson
17) Schroder
18) L Williams
19) D Russell
20) Payton
21) Patty Mills
22) T Johnson
23) Rubio
24) Lin
25) Parker
26) D Rose
27) Seth Curry
28) Livingston
29) I Smith
30) Dunn

I would put him 5th or 6th but there is a very very slim difference between someone who is 5th through 9th on that list so I don't think it is a huge slight.

Dunn being on that list at all puts the whole thing in question.

How about we keep Dame, but trade Portland for Cousins?

Dame is facing Kemba and Wall in the next week. Let's see how he handles it.

CJ has made the argument interesting. At the beginning of the year, of course you'd trade CJ over Dame.

But CJ has been averaging 24 ppg, shooting 52/42/90. His TS% is 59.3%.

Dame is very close to these numbers. 26ppg sooting, 51/35/89. Damian gets to the FT line a lot more, which helps his TS%, but his TS is 58.7%, lower than CJs. The reason for this of course, is the silly 3s he jacks up which lowers his percentage. We all know he's a much better 3pt shooter than 35%.

We've got both of these guys locked up, so I wouldn't trade either one until the right deal comes along.

FYI...both CJ and Allen Crabbe are in the top 10 in the NBA among SGs in TS%. Damian is #9 for PGs.

Our 4s and 5s are all ranked really low. So no it's funny how CJ and Dame take all the shots and are still a hell of a lot more efficient than our role players who are just picking their spots. Just goes to show how much they carry the team.

And McCollum has never made it to an All-Star game ever since he was paired with Lillard. They're both cancers holding the other back.
Not Cancer.... Opposing magnets sounds better?

If they both get injured then Olshey may do something.
