Because they worked their asses off. They ran and ran and ran. Keep running off screens until you get an open look.

Number 1 and 2 in distance traveled per game?

1. CJ
2. Lillard

Then when you look at speed, then break it down on offense and defense, Lillard and CJ give it all they have every game.

HCP was just trying to say if other teams listened to him then his win projection would have been correct this year and we would have sucked after all. Which of course is wrong as you pointed out. He was doubling down on a bad prediction to make it even worse.

According to some we did suck all year.

I didn't start this thread to bash on HCP. I think the distance traveled per game is an interesting stat and the technology being used in games to track it is fascinating.

CJ is leading in the playoffs in distance traveled on offense and defense. The guy is working his ass off on both ends of the court.

That is crazy! Great find Sly. Goes to show how are those guys have to work, to EVEN get a shot off, quality or not. Makes their success this season even more impressive. Imagine how much better we will be when they DON'T have to work that hard to get open looks.

The NBA should be scared for the day that happens, if I was a coach game planning for Dame and CJ WITH a another couple capable scorers would be a nightmare.

Playoff leaders:

Plumlee leader in assists in the post.

Plumlee 6th in offensive rebounding.

Plumlee 3rd in defensive rebounding.

Plumlee 4th in total rebounding.

Lillard 4th in drives to the basket.

Lllard 2nd in touches per game.

Lillard 1st in front court touches.

Lillard 1st in time of possession. (Which makes sense since his name is Damien. Possession... Damien... get it? Damn I crack myself up.)

Lillard 3rd in pull up jumpers.

Lillard 5th in scoring. .3 behind Klay and Harden for 3rd place.

Lillard 8th in assists.

I think that list shows that people have unrealistic expectations for Plumlee. Because he has already blown away my expectations with his play this postseason and those stats just back it up.

All of our players are battling their guts out and exceeding all reasonable expectations.

Channeling my inner asshole:

Plumlee leader in most missed shots from 2 feet or less.

Lillard leader in most missed technical free throws in a single game.

Don't you mean channeling your inner Tunchi post?

What does distance traveled have to do with double teams? Effective D's double CJ and Dame up top when they have the ball, not when they're running off of baseline screens. That would be silly.

25 wins? :ghoti:

That is interesting; I couldn't understand why our offense looked so listless in the 2nd half; this seems to explain it. Could it have been avoided; or if they hadn't played so much and worked so hard, would we already be out of the playoffs? Could a different balance have been found?

And then here is another look at the teams. #1 Portland #2 Golden State. But i find it funny that Curry is no where on the player list? You have to get to the second page to find him.

It's total not average, so obviously curry is low.
Unless it was ironic, in which case I blame the lack of green font
No green font needed. I understand it is total. The point is that Curry played 25 mins a game and traveled far less than many other players and still won the MVP award. This with many of his team mates traveling much further than he did.
The point is that the MVP award is very much a team award. Great players do not get this award without a lot of help from their teams.

And just for conversation..Why is it obvious Curry is low? Certainly not because of position. Both Thompson and Green are in the top 20? And our PG is second overall.

I thought it was only post season somehow

But regardless of distance travelled, Curry was clearly the best player in the nba all season... So I don't see your problem with the MVP

So I don't see your problem with the MVP

Never said anything about having a problem with Curry as the MVP. Just an observation about how well he played and how much of an impact he truly had on the season. Kerr kept his minutes low but just the overall dominance of the team helped. Thus the statement " The MVP award is truly a team award"
