This idiot in the whitehouse just has no clue. Now he wants to have a parade to celebrate himself and touting what a great job he is doing even though his lack of organization and reacting properly has put us in the position we are in.

Andy Borowitz is a humor columnist. He writes satirical articles. That's not actually true.

I will say that it's hard to write satire about Trump that doesn't sound real.

ssshhhh!

we want tanks :biglaugh:

This is it for me. This is when I finally throw Trump under the bus. I can't believe I ever voted for this guy. What was I thinking?

Everyone else that voted for him must be a complete moron too. Obviously the Democrats I hate were CORRECT in pushing the impeachment while this virus was spreading.

This is just the most ridiculous thing I've ever read.

All the arguments I've had over the years with you "liberals" must have just been torture for you guys arguing with someone as dumb as I have clearly been.

Wait, what? One of you posted satire that you believed was completely true and called the President an idiot?

L O fucking L.

lol, a bit sensitive there bondoman? trump is an idiot, but for many more reasons than some satirical article, but you go ahead and hate all democrats even though there are plenty of us independents that feel the same way. If you want to consider yourself dumb, then I will totally agree with you on that.

You don't realize that my post was satire? Not surprised.

Well, make up your mind. Does he write satirical articles, or not?

Not gonna lie, a parade sounds kinda nice. With 4 little kids this has been. A rough few weeks. My 3 year old has a birthday this week and was super excited for a birthday party trying to explain why she’s not getting to have one is not easy. We are gonna do something small. For her and allow her grandparents to come over 1 at a time and then sanitize the house in between. So they get to see her. All the kids have been basically locked inside for a few weeks too (besides moving).
-Yes I realize it was satire.

Some of my most memorable days with my nuggets was at 4th of July, community & even the Rose parades.

The Rose Festival parade is made for little kids, in fact it's perfect for kids while also being attractive to adults even us older ones. Nothing bad whatsoever about the Rose Festival parade except . . . except when it comes to spreading infectious diseases during a pandemic. Hence, the sheer stupidity in allowing the Mardis Gras to take place.

As a kid growing up in and around the Hollywood district me and my buddies would ride our stingray bikes in the kids parade that ran through Hollywood in NE Porltand. Living a couple blocks away from Normandale Park where the parade assembeled made it convenient and it dispeersed at Grant High School. The parade was much smaller back then as it has grown to be a pretty big parade.

My mom used to takes us to that parade way back when. Also the Junior Rose Festival Parade.

I thought all the parades were assembled in the Memorial Coliseum.

Nope, not the junior parade as it was in the Hollywood district and assembled at Normandale Park and disbanded at Grant Park and ran the route up 57th from Normandale to Sandy Blvd and then down the hill on Sandy through Hollywood.

You live in Lake Oswego, of course you do.
I fail to see the correlation. Perhaps you could be a little more vague. No, I guess not.
Also, if there was a change in venue then it must have happened during one of the 35 years that I lived in St. Louis, Seattle or 28 years in the more rural part of Aloha out Farmington road.

Oh, that parade. I got confused not realizing we had drifted from the Rose Festival parade to the junior parade. Isn't the junior parade held at night as a warm-up to the big parade?
I was an adult when they started the junior parade and never got interested in it. I do think it's a cool idea for kids and parents of kids that age.

Edit:
My ex wife's uncle was the longest living Rosarian ever. My ex father-in-law had a veterinarian clinic on Sandy blvd. and they all lived in the Laurelhurst area. What am I saying, you already know this from your baseball days at Grant high.

The parade that is at night is the Starlight parade lanny. The Junior Parade was during the day typically on a Wednesday. I don;t think you were an adult when the Junior Parade started as it was started in the 30's. It's not only the biggest kids parade now, it is also the oldest.

The night parade was called the Merrykhana parade until it change to the starlight parade.

There must have been a hiatus because I recall them starting Starlight parade back up again. It was never in the news when I was a teenager but as an adult I remember all the local TV news stations carrying it.
But hoopguru has informed me that the kids' parade and the Starlight parade are different. So maybe when you said the children's parade I was thinking of the Starlight parade.
