Did the firing of SVG and Otis "my man" Smith increase the possibility that Dwight re-signs in Orlando, thus in turn increasing the possibility that deron does not re-sign with Brooklyn? all of a sudden I feel like Lloyd Chrisitmas

How are they catering to him.

He was a mediocre GM.

And Van Gundy is the #1 Coach in the NBA that other players would LEAST like to play for in a recent survey.

If anything, the team did not "cater" to Howard, and that will cause them to lose him.

oh you must have missed this

D. Williams on ESPN.com:

"I just hate that people think they know where I'm going, because I don't know where I'm going," said Williams, who isn't allowed to talk with other teams since he hasn't opted out yet. "So there's no way for them to know, or assume that I'm going to Dallas or that I'm staying here. I don't know. There could be another team that comes into the picture."

how is it possible that anyone would know anything? it is not even possible to know that it is impossible to possibly know anything.

From Sam Amick:
Deron Williams prefers to re-sign with the Nets, but he also would consider going to the Lakers in a sign-and-trade, according to a source.

The Lakers appear to be a more suitable alternative for Williams than the Mavericks.

"There's no longevity there," said a source close to Williams of the Mavericks.

L@kers? I don't think so. What would they trade? The only piece worth considering is Bynum and they aren't trading him for D.Will--and if they did then L*kers would look even older than Mavs.

Too bad their isn't a team with cap space to sign him that has a younger version of Dirk. Hmmmm.

Having said that, if I were Mr. Cupcheck I would be on the phone to Orlando pushing the Bynum for Howard trade, and then see if you leverage Gasol to get D.Will on. I think their cap situation will prevent it though.

Aren't the days of a team being able to put together a squad with 3 max contract players over?

I was under the impression the new CBA would have made it very hard.

Kobe 28mil
Dwight 20 mil
Dwill 17 mil

They could do it if they can turn Gasol into Dwill (not sure how). They pay a very big tax penalty for it, but it could be possible.
