There is Punjab in India and Pakistan. Junoon, I thought you were from the part of Paki. but where is Punjab in India? Also Kashmir is in India and Pak. And Punjab too.

^ Damn man, you're posts are all over the place.

Here's a rough outline of where Punjab is:

indiarel96ciamappunjabxg1.jpg

Pakistan used to be part of India and when it split, it took some of Punjab with it. As you can see, it's a pretty small province. Border problems after the seperation and violence during the 1980's lead to heavy immigration.

Jokes aside, I'm from the country of Mt.Everest (Nepal). And no, I've never climbed it or been to it before (that's usually what everyone asks).

Do you have a pet mountain goat? And is your dad a sherpa? j/k.

nice one man, I don't usually get those as often. Surprised you even know where it is though, sometimes even brown people don't have a clue....which I find really strange.

Actually the mountainous areas of Nepal consists of people that more so resemble Tibetian and Chinese people in terms of physicality (these are your typical mountain climbers and such)...whereas the lower you go in the country, the more the population tends to resemble an Indian person.
Honestly, even I can't differenciate between an Indian person and lower-Nepali (bordering India) person, so I don't expect others too either.

However, when I was younger it used to really tick me off if someone called me an Indian (not because I had anything against Indians, but just because people couldn't differenciate)...but then the older I grew, the less I cared what other people thought I was as long as I knew what I was. Plus the majority of my friends are brown from a variety of countries anyways, so it doesn't really matter anymore cause I can't differenciate between ANY of them; we're all just "brown", and I don't mind that.

Yea, I know a dude who's from there, so I know a little about it. You're right though. Everyone's just brown over here.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Locke:</div><div class="quote_post">My version of Bollywood stereotypes:

A guy is in love with a girl. They run through a field, with the guy chasing the girl. Suddenly, there's a tree in the field and the girl ducks behind it. The couple then spend 10 minutes chasing each other around the tree, and sing at the same time. Then they get together, and BAM! 20 people come out from nowhere, and they act as backup dancers. It then turns into a dance routine for 10 minutes. </div>
Man that is what makes me love Indian movies, I will get bored of the real plot, but the BAM and 20 dancers popping out of no where with a 10 minute song, I just love the spontenaity.

That map is pretty accurate. Put Islamabad and Multan in the circle, and you pretty much got it.

Yes...we are all just brown. But...the thing is thought...you have Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. When someone asks me "are you from India?" I say no, im from Pakistan...and people say "same thing". I kinda don't like that. Not that I'm against India or anything. Regardless of what people might say. It's just that...everyone has a country that they're from or from where they're parents are from. If you were to go to an Indian person, and ask them if they're from Pakistan, he/she would say "no, im from India". Basically... it's the same as...if you're an American, and someone calls you Canadian...you'd get pissed, right? A canadian person and an american standing together...you couldnt tell the difference if they wore the same clothes and all. Ah well...I think I'm just confusing everyone.

I love all my brown people...

^^ Comment on the bollywood songs: It's also funny how they change clothes in every cut scene.

^ That's an understandable thing to get annoyed with. Asians still get it the worst in that aspect, though.

Another thing that I always found annoying is the way that directors/producers just assumed that acting ability runs in the family. I remember watching movies where the son/daughter of a legendary actor/actress get so much hype, when they have no ability at all.

Oh man that's the worst. Bollywood is all about connections.

I know where your country is. I know quite a bit of your region, but then again, I know just about every region and country anyway.

That's cool though, so you live there now or you just originate from there?

If I lived there right now, I'm 90% sure I wouldn't be on JBB. The country is in quite a messed up state, even currently. I've in living in Canada for more then half of my life....I still remember the country to some degree, but not too much. Basically, I grew up here, so everything else is just vaugue.

Since you're from Brampton and the Nep. population here isn't that high, would you mind telling me the name? I know pretty much every Nep in the GTA area.

He actually lives on rez at UofT and goes back to Nepal/wherever in the summers. His name is Rajan, though.

HEY what about surjit bindrakhia

and I need ur opinions seeing most u guys r asian etc. was arguing with my friend the other day about eating, he eats bombay mix with a spoon, u do not eat bombay mix with a spoon i'm starting a thread on this!

Never heard of your dude, if he's a muscian.

If I'm eating Khatta-Meeta at home (I'm assuming you guys know what that is), I use a spoon. I hate eating with my hands, I'm a naturally messy eater, even WITH a spoon...I just flat out embarrass myself trying to eat rice with my fingers, it doesn't work for me.

Yeah, I tried eating rice with my hands, I dropped half and ate the other half. I was messy. I just try spoon now. But eating with hands just makes the food taste better sometimes and is a total different feeling (in a good way).

I know what you're saying, being from New Zealand, but living in Australia, people just assume I'm Australian, however I'm loyal to my home country, I'm patriotic towards New Zealand, I always make sure to correct people when they mistake me for an Australian.

How do you eat indian food with a spoon? That's interesting. Not that I don't know how to use a spoon, but something interesting that my mom has pointed out to me before about using your hands:

You'll never burn your mouth when you use your hands, because you know right away how hot you food is. Another thing, you're forced to wash your hands before you eat and after you eat. . a good practice for people.

Too funny, I've never seen this video before. The guy's name is Daler Mehendi (I think, or something along those lines)...I've heard his songs before, they're actually pretty good, but I've obviously never seen his videos before...I should watch more, they are quite amazing.

By the way, this is punjabi music, not bollywood music.

lol @ Daler Mehndi. I remember he got caught illegally smuggling in immigrants or something like that. That video's the sh*t, though.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">
Mehndi is also popular in the United States amongst teenagers [11], where his album song "Tunak Tunak Tun" is an Internet phenomenon. This cult following was spurred by the music video for Mehndi's song "Tunak Tunak Tun", often referred to simply as "Tunak", which gained its popularity due to Daler Mehndi's wild dancing and has lead to many homages and parodies.[12] Mehndi originally conceived of the music video, in which he dances with "clones" of himself, in response to media statements that he was popular only because of the models in his videos. Tunak Tunak Tun was the first music video to make use of green screen technology in India
</div>

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Mehndi was also accused of being a member of a scam bringing illegal immigrants to Canada by disguising them as musicians, a charge he denies.[15] He was in hiding for a month before he surrendered to police in Patiala and charged with 31 counts of immigration law violations.[16] Punjab police director-general, A. A. Siddiqui, later stated Mehndi was innocent and insinuated that the confusion arose because Daler and his brother, who was the original target of the scandal, looked alike</div>

I love the dude's happy looking nature.

Rice and Dal, man thats so good. One thing I like about our food is that its so spicy. When you eat that type of food, water runs down your nose, now that's how good it is. So what'd every eat today?

Lol, some people actually eat pizza with a fork and a knife. Thats "suppose" to be the proper way, but these days who is proper??
