Prediction:

Sanders wins, Hiliar gets more delegates, somehow.

Sanders pulling away.

53.3 - 46.7

Sanders wins Indiana.

Proof Hiliar can be defeated by a nut job.

There was a time the Republican Party was adrift, rudderless. Reagan came along and used the party infrastructure to mount a successful campaign. He wasn't exactly liked by the establishment of the party then.

There was a time the Democratic Party was similarly in disarray. Carter, Mondale, Dukakis? What a joke! The Democrats controlled both houses for 40+ years and lost both. GHW Bush was seen as a shoe-in to win reelection. His favorability ratings were in the stratosphere. The Democratic Party big names didn't want to run and lose, so a bunch of no names ended up running. Bill Clinton emerged from that mess and ended up beating Bush. He reshaped the party infrastructure to suit his needs - centrist vs. ridiculous loser left.

Here we are, Republicans again in disarray. They ran their 17 finest and the one guy the establishment didn't like is the winner. His path to victory is similar to Reagan's. While the talking heads are blathering against him and for the Democrat, speak directly to the people.

Reagan and Clinton were two term presidents. Yikes!

The Democrats aren't exactly in good shape these days. Their bench is geezers, out of touch policy wonks, and people you've never heard of (O'Malley).

I thought the 2000 election was scary. This is far worse.

Absolutely. The only possible option left for getting a reasonable candidate is if HiLiar is indicted and the Democrats put up someone not evil.

This is what I call a lose-lose election...lesser of 2 evils...crapshoot...get lost in the woods until the next election...lobby for the Pacific NW to become an independent nation or something...definitely doesn't build trust between my values and the system in govt.

No he wasn't.

He was against the war in Iraq. Crazy?

Good point. There were a few issues where his position wasn't crazy. Just like Trump...

He wasn't for massively increasing the deficit. Or making too big to fail banks even bigger.

He was right on soooo many things.

The Republicans will run a third party candidate and try to send the election to the house.

The Republicans will run a third party candidate and try to send the election to the house.

That would be logical.

So I have to assume it hasn't occurred to them.

So, Denny, how do you feel about Lyin' Ted?

One theory on why he dropped out tonight is so that he can try to become the Libertarian party nominee.
