I was listening to Mike Richman's podcast from today and he was talking about some possible expectations for Shae/Scoot/Grant for this upcoming season.

Sharpe - I'm not sure if Sharpe will get 20 this season. I'm thinking maybe the 17-18 ppg range. I think he's good for maybe 3-4 rebounds a game and 2-3 assists. The most important thing to me is I'd like to see his defense improve and his shooting percentages.

Simons - Ant put up 21.7 ppg and 4.2 assists on 44.7% shooting and 37.7% from three. I'd like to see the percentages go up a bit. I think his scoring will stay roughly the same. Maybe slightly better.

Grant - he averaged 20.5 ppg and 4.5 rebounds. His shooting was pretty solid at 47.5% from the field and 40% from three. I could actually see his scoring go up slightly. Maybe 22ppg. I'm not going to get my hopes up about his rebounding.

Scoot - I'm holding out hope for 18 and 8. I think he has the scorers around him to do 8 assists a game. Richman talked about this, but it IS possible. John Wall did it. Trae Young did it (almost 9.5 assists per game as a rookie) and I think Scoot can do it.

Not sure who our center is. I think Thybulle might do 10 ppg and a few boards and steals. I think Walker might get some burn but it will be minimal. Nas did 6.6 ppg last year and I'd really like to see him improve on that.

I think Sharpe’s % will drop pretty significantly at the beginning of the season. Scouting is going to take away what he likes to do. Hopefully he stays positive and works through it

I think Ant also has his % go down trying to do too much.

Grant likely the same

I see Scoot south of 15 ppg and somewhere around 8 assists

Hopefully after the break Scoot and Sharpe find their rhythm and Sharpe’s % creep up

Grant settles into a supporting role

Ant is traded

Nurk either figures out how to choose violence when in the low post and stop throwing up his bullshit flip shots at the basket and stop his fucking pouting or we trade him for a gallon of Bey’s stew

35 wins is what I am hoping for

I don’t think scoring stats matter much. We’ll score. We need defensive improvement. For that reason, I think Nurk is staying. His defense isn’t what it was 5 years ago but we’re still worse without him. We’ll see. Should be interesting.

Right now to start the season:
Dame 33ppg, 4 assists pg
Scoot 14 ppg, 7 assists pg
Grant 20 and 10
Sharpe 18/6/2
Ant 15/3

Same as last year.....do everything you can to get in the dance. At the point where it probably comes that it appears unreachable, sit the older veterans and get youth experience.

Unfortunately Grant has never come even close to averaging that many rebounds. Most he has averaged was 5.2 back in 2018-2019. He's just a horrible rebounder for a power forward.

May be different with more pace and space and an actual PG.

Come trade deadline Dame will be averaging 34 points a game, as a Blazer.
Ant will be near 24ppg
Shae - 15 ppg
Nurk - 17ppg
Scoot - 17 ppg
Walker & Murry - 14ppg combined

If Scoot doesn't lead all rookies in assists I'm calling him a bust and becoming a full time Salem Arena football fan.

ppg
Simons 23
Grant 19
Scoot 16
Sharpe 14
Thybulle 10
(unknown) starting Center, 9
Little 8
Murray 7
Walker 6
Keon 5

Each player on the wining team of this in season tourney will take home $500,000? If that’s true the team with 11 players set to make the league minimum will have the most to play for and will win. I’m picking the Suns for that reason!

Most excited I've been for a season since COVID hit. I love watching young teams with zero expectations and watching them grow game by game.
It will be fun watching the young guys get out and run.
How do you think the always chipper and positive Nurk will do. You know since he wants everything run through him. Not sure how that’s going to turn out.
