Eric Schmidt (I think?), Mike Donahue, Ken Boddie, Ed Whelan....the cream of our collective news crop! (well, of the 4 names i mentioned....David Apple, Jim Bosley, Jack Cappel, Jim Little, Pete Schulberg, Dick Bogle, Margie Boule, Bob the Weather Cat, and many others were awesome too).

Not sure why I'm going on this news related tangent.

My folks in my younger years were always KATU people so my golden age was Julie Emry and Jeff Gianola with Bosley on the weather and Lou Gellos on the sports. Steve Arena soon to follow. If my memory serves Rhonda Shelby was actually the one who took over for the Boz. As years went on it became more of a KGW household but I got older and was out of the house at that point. My dad has this weird affinity for Matt Zaffino, which I don’t get because his weather sucks. About the only sports guy worth a damn is Krupke.

I do channel 12. Because I’m a sucker for corny stories and easy access.

Most the news in Portland is done by kids these days, except for Gianola still stringing along. Maybe Bodie is still there as well. I never watch KOIN

I remember when Steve left and Lou took over, it was a nice change of pace.

I thought Rob Marciano took over for Bos, but left for CNN or something like that.

I prefer channel 12 also, bust mostly because they do news for most of the day and if you miss it you'll hear it again.

Jim little was on, iirc, KATU and KGW. Did a little google search, and somewhere it said he was on 3 stations, so maybe he was on KPTV too.

David was also on KATU. I saw him once in person somewhere, don't remember where. He was quite heavy. But seemed very nice to me.

Oh crap, I just googled it and David Apple died in 2005. Yeah he was the one I was thinking of. Had a strong resemblance to Bob Akamian I always thought

Oh man, forgot about Bob. I know he used to do stuff for the Blazers/Courtside back in the day.

Oh, and Scott Lynn. I know he covered for Wheels before @Travis Demers took over full time.

Scott Lynn is on Mark Mason show once in awhile. He retired down in Tampa.

Worked with Krupke at WSU ... good dude and glad to hear he's doing well in the market. Been at my station for almost 13 years now and hoping one day on some random thread that I'll never see I get talked about with some wonderment. It's an amazing thing going into peoples homes every night and the familiarity they feel they have with you by doing the nightly news. One day I still hope to get back to the PDX market but might be a pipe dream at this point.

editorials are not AP news feeds...they're opinion pieces. I've never subscribed to the NY Times so I don't have a real grasp on who contributes to their editorials, but they buy editorials just like every other newspaper does. They're certainly not as present on the internet as CNN or Fox are, that's for sure. In the media it's good practice to cover your ass in the world of cancel culture...always has been. That's not a business flaw. Trump is a crook and has been his entire adult life...the privilege ended when he lost the election...the fucker should be put in jail for 4 years over 34 counts of fraud...you or I would be in bars today if we did that....equal justice for all...even rich assholes.

Trump is such an obvious crook that the worst thing they can charge him with is a 6-year-old case that is so flimsy the DA before Bragg refused to act on it, and legal experts have said is ridiculous. The Democrats are so filled with hatred against Trump for beating Hillary Clinton that they can’t see straight, and have to keep straining at gnats to try to pin something on him. Meanwhile, Hillary destroyed 33,000 subpoenaed emails and Democrats looked the other way. If there is fire to the Hunter Biden smoke, then by all means, he should be held accountable. The Republicants are now in charge of the House, yet Gym Jordan is spending his efforts tilting at windmills and sticking his nose into areas where he has absolutely no jurisdiction or any other authority. So why isn't he going after Hunter Biden??? Maybe because there really isn't anything there??? For all the Hunter, Hunter, Hunter noise, you'd think that would be front burner stuff right now if there was anything to it. Oh, and by the way, the Hillary email thing was investigated by a bipartisan panel and she was found "guilty" of nothing more than poor judgement, even by the Republicans on the panel. And please provide proof that Joe Biden got millions from Ukraine and China. Just because you (and other bomb throwers) make the claim doesn't make it so. And the hush money thing is just an appetizer for the real Trump crimes. So stay tuned.....and try to pay attention. It's only going to get more entertaining....
