Somebody suggested trading HL to Dallas for what would be quite a haul and surely help stock the Rangers below average prospect cupboard. Dallas could likely fit his 8.5m into their cap but Lundqvist would probably not be up for leaving the Rangers, at least not yet.
The Rangers probably could get back something like Lehtonen, Nichushkin, 2 1sts and a prospect if they dealt him now. Its getting harder to see a scenario where he wins here in the next 3y.

No way. Lundqvist retires a Ranger, end of story. They could win the cup next year if they make the necessary changes

They may make the playoffs but winning the whole thing is going to be a very tall order. With several rookies, guys who have been underachievers and a pourous defense, winning a round will even be tough. As tough as it may be they may have to endure a year or two (or 3) of hard times to start building again.

A moronic HF trade proposal. They happen 50 times a day on that trash board. Hank barring a miracle, will not be dealt. My guess is Hank has invested his money well. He's a proud man. When he can't play at a high level, he'll retire. I don't see him hanging on to hang out with the guys. He has too many other interests.

Gretzky got traded so i guess Henrik could get traded but i don't see it happen. I also don't think you need a top goalie to win in this league anymore so he's become an expensive luxury and no longer a need and for that reason i would not be against it if it happened.

Well, Crawford got pulled for a stretch last year and then got put back in. So, I agree you don't need an elite goalie to win a cup. However, it helps a lot when you are trying to make the playoffs and your teams offense blows.

Let's start with Nash, move to resolving the Girardi situation and see what Hayes might bring back before they think about trading our franchise goaltender.

If it ever does happen it wouldn't be for another 3y when his contract is almost up and a team won't have to give up a ton. Of course by then HL will be on the decline for sure. Perhaps Halverson or someone else will be there to take over.
