Five road games to open the season taught the Iowa Energy they have the components to become a top team in the NBA Development League.
The home opener Sunday showed them they aren’t quite up to speed yet with the league’s gold standard.
Defending league champion Rio Grande Valley buried the Energy with a high-octane offense and a barrage of 3-pointers, running its winning streak to 23 games with a 133-123 victory in front of 3,642 at Wells Fargo Arena.
