Say this about the Armor: They kept it entertaining.
After a pair of blowout losses in their prior two games, Springfield hung tough against first-place Iowa Thursday night at the MassMutual Center.
“We don’t take any moral victories for coming close to the best team in the league,” Armor coach Dee Brown said. “We had an opportunity to win this game. There’s certain things we want guys to figure out sooner or later. It’s all about defense and playing with passion and a sense of competitive pride and spirit.”
But in the end, amusement didn’t equal a win as the Armor extended their skid to six games with a 111-99 loss to the Energy before a crowd of 2,092.
