I got one of the 1st generation 32G models. I haven't run out of space on it. I don't download lots of music or movies on it though. If you're taking the thing on the road and want stuff to watch in the hotel room, then the bigger size is worth it.

I would rather have a smaller one to take on the road, though. The large size is harder to fit in the luggage.

I swear by it, I love having the larger screen for movies on the road and the biggest thing is the sound. The four speakers are amazing. I stopped traveling my Bluetooth speaker, didn't need it.

I started out with the same 32G 1st gen iPad mini (WiFi + cellular) as Denny and was super happy with it (and used very little of the available storage). About a year ago, having decided we no longer had any real use for an actual desk top computer, I upgraded to the 10.5” iPad Pro (WiFi + cellular) and have been even happier even though it has far more capabilities than my limited technical abilities can handle. And you are absolutely correct; the 4 speakers are a YUGE upgrade in sound quality. My only (sorta kinda) regret is that I went with 256G of storage. Even after a long road trip full of photos, etc, I’ve only used up 20G of storage in a year. But it’s nice to know it’s there if I ever need it. I rarely if ever download movies, as there’s no real need with cellular data capability. And with the outstanding picture quality, I find the screen size to be perfectly fine. And sizewise, it really does make a difference when traveling, especially if you’re packing it in a suitcase. But I highly recommend paying the extra and getting an iPad with cellular data. It is so much more versatile and convenient.....

New it was $1,200

If that's true, you do know most items lose half their value once they leave the store? IF you are trying to hook someone up, try selling it for what a Pawn shop would pay you for it, which would be $300-$500 depending on condition.
Even after you lowered it to $650, you arent really hooking anyone up, IMO... check it out:

not trying to call you out, but i'm actually looking for a used Ipad, but probably older than yourts. Just something I can run my Presonus studiolive remotely with.
I'm looking used, because they are too expensive. But i'm looking in the $300-$500 range... again probably older than yours.
