Here's another example, I will sometimes plug my phone into a small stereo system that I use when I'm out on my deck or working in the garage. I'll usually plug it into the charger as well. That won't be possible anymore. I would have to go buy a bluetooth stereo.

That situation will be my biggest complaint. Could they possibly make an adapter that splits into two connections?

It's about transferring data. Wireless is not as good as a hard line. That's true of any data. So if you're listening to music, and you're a true music connoisseur, then you're going to want a hard line because it will be able to transfer more information at a faster rate. In this case, music = information.

Probably not. I'm not willing to spend the money on a really nice pair of headphones, or on bluetooth earbuds for that matter. For me it's about the inability to charge/listen to music. That's the sticking point.

Yeah I am with you. I don't want a perceived difference, so I will definitely look into the quality aspect, but.... Hell even MP3's weren't true source quality. and I can't think of any online stream that is not true source, due to bandwidth over the air.

the biggest issue i can see with the sound quality is if an IOS update borks it or f's up the codec.

An headphone jack adapter comes with the iPhone 7.

Doesn't bother me at all. I've been wanting to get bluetooth headphones anyway, so this will just jump start that purchase. And if I want to use standard headphones, use the adapter. Simple.

They sell the sony bluetooth headphones at costco. They were on sale for 100 a couple of weeks ago. They aren't amazing but for the price they are great considering that they are pretty comfortable. They are the big ones, not earbuds.
