Looks like much of the country is falling to Al Queada. :MARIS61:

Thoughts?

Every time Cheney criticizes Obama about this, it's like O.J. saying he'll go search for who's at fault.

It's unfortunate that portions of their military appears to give up without a fight, literally.

Looks like it is going to happen. Jordan next. Then what?

When the Sunni Khilafat is a reality it will be interesting to see what happens.

Will they attempt to wipe out Israel next or settle the score, on who really is the Caliph,
between them and the Shia Iranians.

Hard to say what we should do now, since we already blew it in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I guess it depends on their next move, hopefully they choose to settle the score with Iran and the Imam. We sit that out and prepare for the next event which maybe nothing when the dust clears after the Grand battle for all Islam.

We surrendered in 2009. Surprised it took this long to fall apart.

I think George Bush was right when he declared victory on the deck of an Aircraft carrier. We should have left then (Iraq).
I don't know what the hell Obama will do now, but I don't agree with what the Republicans want to do either.

Thoughts?

I feel stupid for voting for McCain.

McCain said repeatedly that the U.S. “had the conflict won” after the 2007 troop surge, with Iraq maintaining a stable government and Al Qaeda extremists largely defeated.

But the Obama administration’s decision not to leave behind a residual force, he said, has caused the situation to deteriorate. Now, the senator said, “this has turned into one of the most serious threats to American security in recent history.”

McCain, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, also reiterated his call for the president to fire his entire national security team, including Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey.

“Everyone on the national security team,” he said, when asked who the president should let go. “They have been a total failure.”

We had the conflict "Won," riiiiiiight.

Fucking politicians.

Should have let us finish the job back in '91.

I think the point is that you can never "finish the job."

Not unless the job is to simply kill Saddam and pop smoke.

We could have stayed for fifty years, but as soon as we left this was going to happen. It was inevitable.

Shocker.

Whatever, more soldiers to fight against in our never ending war, wish we wouldn't keep arming them though.

Our civil war is the model for what would have worked there.

A very long term occupation (we called it reconstruction).

But it isn't our country, so why should we?

The generals predicted this outcome when oboma declared his intent. Full out sectarian civil war..for all of the infrastructure and stability we provided is for not but a waste of time, lives and money.

Guess it may be time to let those peaceful Muslims kill the other peaceful Muslims, our advantage once held has vanished.

Yep, some how I think the sunni Caliph will want to clarify the position of Islam with the Shia Imam
before taking on the great Satan. It seems to me we should not interfere while that shakes out.
Except perhaps stir the brew a little when possible.

This thread captures the sounds that warmongers make as they shuffle off into the sunset.

It sounds like the sad mourning of one person alone in a dark Catholic church as he lights candles for his dead causes.

The occupations would be a matter of weeks, not months or years.
The troops would be greeted as liberators.
The occupations would pay for itself.
Iraq would be a shining example of democracy in the Middle East.
Mission accomplished.

Funny how those who were wrong about everything are help up in every Sunday news program as foreign policy experts.

oi vey, triple post bug, mods, please delete two of them!

I just heard one of the experts say, If we don't help Irag we will be helping Iran??? What???
We blew it in Irag in 91 by not finishing the job (Hussein), We blew it again after we finished the job (Hussien) by sticking around to create a "democracy".

Geez, I am not even sure that Iraq should even be a country with a population of Kurd, Sunni's and Shia.

In any event the Sunnis are doing battle with Shia (Iran's boys) The US gave up what ever the hell we had there, let us not blow it one more time, let the Sunnis and the Shia have at it. We watch and heal.

We probable do have a disaster coming though, I doubt Obama will evacuate the US from Baghdad in time.

What does your liberal daughter think? Does she love killing as much as you do?

trillions of dollars down the drain with a net result of more enemies than we had before, and shitloads of dead bodies. maybe its time to stop giving the pentagon carte blanche with our entire worlds future...

seriously, somebody should get fired for this

The President ordered the USS Bush into the Persian Gulf. Why do you think he needs an AirCraft Carrier there? I hope it is to escort transports in and out of Baghdad with the US personel aboard when they leave.

We will know soon I expect.
