<{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>well first of LT let me congradulate you on your service to our country. was Iraq as bad as the media reports it is? because I've had friends who have returned and said it isn't as bad as the media has claimed, that most the people are friendly and the majory actually want to help the US and not hinder its progression.150,000 dead is a lot, and its sad that, that many people had to die. but by no means is it anywhere close to what Hitler did. Hitler killed in the tens of millions of citizens. also, a lot of those citizens were killed by insergents, not the US military. the Insergency has taken to attacking the Iraqi citizens to try and turn them to their cause.</div>LT what was your MOS, and what part of Iraq was you in?Iraq isn't that bad at all, but lots of it depends on your job while you are there. If you work on helicopters, stay on the air field most of the day, and only leave when your sitting door gunner then Iraq is definately bad at all. For the most part the country likes america, but every operating base you are at has the people that dont like them near by. The worst part of Iraq is crossing into the country from Kuwait. There is a little town on the border, and pretty much every convoy into Iraq goes through the same town. As soon as you cross into Iraq, all these hungry people start jumping onto your Convoys and trucks trying to get food, steal monetary items, take anything they think might be of value. The problem is, in the crowd there are people holding weapons that don't like americans. It gets hard to tell if someone has a gun, or a weapon when all those are there trying to jump onto your convoys. As for the civilian death total in Iraq, I don't know if those numbers are completely accurate or not. I do know the U.S. Military and a few of the allies there with us, which by the way, there are Australian military elements in Iraq with us, was not the only cause for those deaths. Lots of these people have died, have died from IED's on the side of the road that they have blown up when they walk by. They have died from being getting strapped with c4 and sent to talk to our army. They have died, because the terrorists kill them, and then try to make it look like the U.S. troops are responsible for these actions. I personally don't believe that U.S has caused anywhere near 150,000 civilian deaths in Iraq.
