That Is clearly missing. Lets be real..the death of martys mother was the short term kick in the ass the team needed...no one kept that emotion up in this series.

Game two was the killer Al. I hate to repeat the line but to me it's one of the worst playoffs loses this team has ever had. Win that one as they should've and it's a 1-1 series and everything is different.

Now that I look back...unless I missed itbecause I was going bezerk..but was there a huge erruption from av at the. Non call? Where were all the assistant captins running the refs...passive coach did not help in that situation

AV was all over the ref but at that point it doesn't matter. Even what the players do doesn't matter. The goal wasn't going to be taken off the board.

Mess is 100% right. But we didn't lose because of the questionable non GI call. I know that is the popuar theme now, if not for "the call" we win the game, but that is not why we lost.

We still had 2-0 and 3-1 leads. We still led 4-3 after the call. We still had Richards fail to clear on a goal. McDonagh fail to clear on a goal. We still had many shots in OT to win, including a post by Kreider. We still had 3:30 of PP time in OT, and did nothing.

All those things still happened regardless of the call. And if that call changed everything then we were in big trouble no matter what, and very fragile to start with.

As Mess said, game 2 was the killer. Do we win last night if we win game 2? Do we win the series if we win game 2? I don't have for sure answers for either of those questions. But I do know if we win game 2, and we 100% should have, we would have been a different team mentally last night, no doubt about that. BUT we didn't win game 2, and we had an epic loss as Mess says. That crushed us, and is what it is now. Shame as I said at the time.

Basically this series is turning out to be a "test run" for some of these guys who will be around long-term and hopefully part of a better, more experienced roster going forward. No shame in that, they've played pretty well against a vg team, but eventually if you don't capitalize on all your breaks their talent wins out. Winning the EC was almost like winning a SC for this team. Hopefully they can send it back to LA where i think they could actually get it back to MSG.

While I do think the missed call was a huge part of the reason they lost game 2, it was not the only reason. Like Chuck said, they had opportunities to win it, and they couldn't bury them. Stanley Cup winning teams go out and take the game out of the referees hands, and the Rangers couldn't do that. If nothing else, this will be valuable experience they can use going forward. But until the Kings win 4, it's not over.
