I definitely want to be there for this one! It would be very interesting!

I would like to be there too, but maybe KP won't be up for it given all the crap and doubt he has taken in the last few weeks.

Most of it is undeserved, but offering Roy 4 years when Hedo F**KING Turkoglu got 5 years is a disaster. Start at 5 years with Roy at a lower amount than the max if you want to "negotiate". Taking a year away from him is simply absurd and makes almost no sense.

I'm working with Jim Taylor of the Blazers. For now, we're waiting until the dust somewhat settles on all of KP's flurry of activity.

I'm guessing that the M & G will be sometime near October again this year.

Stay tuned. I'm on it. :)

Fixed. ;)

You're sure about these terms? Where did you see them? I'm pretty sure that nobody outside the negotiating parties have seen the terms yet. We don't know what the sticking points are yet.

Not a direct quote about the years, but a direct quote about Roy being "frustrated", and neither Roy's agent nor the team are denying this, and it's been in print twice now.

Note: Bob Myers, the agent for Blazers guard Brandon Roy, has been tight-lipped throughout negotiations for Roy's contract extension, but on Thursday, Myers said "we are frustrated a deal has not been reached." Roy is asking for a maximum contract in both years (five) and money (estimated $82 million). However, the Blazers have been willing to only grant a four-year contract. The Blazers have until Oct. 31 to sign Roy, and Aldridge, to extensions. If they don't reach agreements, the players can become restricted free agents next summer.

Who is bringing the torches, pitchforks, and tar and feathers?????

Statements which benefit his side of the negotiation and generate sympathy for his client. He played it correctly.

KP would have no business being a GM if he gave every agent what they want for their first offer. I don't care who the player is.

4 years my ass. I don't believe that for a second.

Bring the chick in your avitar and I KNOW KP will be there!

Isn't Alba a L@ker fan?

Although she was at the Clipper game last year. Right Agent Xericx Pavlo . . . whatever your name is this week.

I imagine that this would be a lot like what the Get together would look like in here

It's been in print twice, and with Roy's agent attached to it the second time. \

Why would Brandon sign at this point? Lots of suitors next summer, he's an RFA, so he'll get his 5-year max from either another team or the Blazers if they match. What the hell is Portland thinking right now?

Roy holds the leverage. He'll get a 5 year max from somebody as an RFA next summer. I'd even consider forcing a trade to a team that will treat him right this summer so he can sign before October 31st.

If this meet & greet happens, I hope it gets taped and put online. It sounds like it will be hilarious.

I have to be there. Respect! Antimosity! Leverage! I'll get all the buzzwords in the conversation.

Getting these meet and greets done is a process. Negotiations are amicable.

First, let's be clear here - I am a Roy fan, I think he should get the max and I hope it happens as soon as possible.

With that said - Roy does not have all the leverage here - because if he gets into a Shawn Livingston next year - he is down a big, big contract. That's why he wants to get it done this year - otherwise - he would not discuss the extension this year at all and just do it next year when he has the option to talk to each and every team.

Roy has lots of leverage. The team has some. I hope this is nothing more than just nonsense that will be resolved soon.

I still don't believe it, especially since it came from his agent. As for what Portland is thinking, my guess would be "It looks to me like a large majority of the people bitching and whining and pissing and moaning about this are the same people who told us they'd keep buying tickets if we burn the team to the ground and rebuild the roster with character guys."

We love our guys...

Unless you are talking about our best player asking for a contract that is the same duration as the one we offered a guy not even half as good. Then we need to play hard ball and get tough.

You go KP....

Straight to hell.
