Whoops. Read that one wrong! Anyhow, Aldridge had a per/48 rebound rate of ~13 last night. I view this as a positive.

Has Lee even played in a playoff game? He seems like a stat monster who plays on bad teams. 5 years, no playoffs, not a good sign, is it?

I would not replace Lee for LMA - but I would not blame Lee for playing for the Knicks and not making the playoffs.

How can you blame Lee, what kind of talent did he have around him in NYK? Put LMA on that Knicks team and people would be saying the same thing, except minus a few rebounds.

Lee gave up 25/7 to "LaMarshmello" Aldridge last night. That's not great for an All-Star PF.

Lee has a better DRtg than LMA, despite playing on worse defensive teams throughout his career. Thats really all I need to know about the two. People can knock on his defense all you want, he's still a better defender than Aldridge. Thats a fact folks.

They both have a career Drtg of 108. Aldridge was 107 last year, and Lee was 108. Additionally, Aldridge averages more DWSs/season than Lee.

So basically your assertion that Lee can't guard a chair is wrong. I love how people keep bringing up Lee's defense, when Aldridge is no better. While Lee is a much, much better rebounder, shoots a much better percentage, averages more points and assists in the same minutes as Aldridge. They are basically the same defensively.

Lee even had a PER of 22.28 last year, while Aldridge was sitting at 18.30.

Those are all facts, which lead me to believe I'd rather have Lee than Aldridge.

Okay, to tell you the truth I don't know jack shit about that stat. But lets ignore all other stats and lets focus on Defensive Win Shares.

But, if thats the only stat that supports your case, cool!

I think Aldridge gets part of his bad rap because he doesn't seem to "tear" rebounds down in traffic. Also, when the team seems to "need" a rebound, Aldridge doesn't seem to want to get his nose dirty and go get one. Also, again, if Aldridge wants to really be mentioned with other elite level PF's like Bosh, KG, Amare, Boozer, Dirk , etc, he needs to get their numbers.

I misread the stat when I looked at the first time

Back to the reason were even comparing these stats, is because people are saying that Aldridge is a superior defender, when in reality he's barely better if not a moot point because they both are on the same level (not very good).

However, give me Lee's rebounds, PPG, APG and efficiency from the field and you have a superior player. Lee was top 5 for his position in PER last year as well.

I understand people fall in love with Aldridge's silky smooth jumper, ability to run the court for his size and defend the perimeter for a 4. But, there's so many holes in his game and he has this label as a soft player because its true. I gave Aldridge plenty of time to prove me wrong and he hasn't. I think we should move on if we have an opportunity.
