We're definitely digging our own grave, but very slowly, and it will take a LOT to change that.

I think the British should give us money. I am so sick of them calling us Americans Yanks. Once I never hear another British person call us a Yank, then I will finally think bigotry is solved.In other news, BET is a pretty bad channel. Maybe it's a channel owned by white people, but it is clearly a channel run, created, and watched by black people. This guy in the dorm I used to live in would turn it on. Typically the program involved horrible rap accompanied by big black/latino asses in thongs. It's really engaging programming; I must admit.Also, neither UPN or the WB exist anymore. They are CW now. I wouldn't say that UPN was necessarily for black people. They have had a lot of black sitcoms, but also shows like WWE SmackDown! and various Star Trek series. NBC, Fox, and CBS have all had "black" shows. Some of them were very successful and many weren't (realistically, most tv shows are crap... so this isn't a shot at black people).I think BET is a crappy network. Black people can have it if they want it, but it just reinforces black stereotypes and idiocy within the black community. There doesn't need to be a WET because white people aren't really obsessed with the color of their skin.

It's not that they're not allowed to use the word, but it's the idea that we thought we've progressed enough as two races to the point where whites would never use the word in hatred. When a white person says nigger, I would be angry; if a white boy says nigga so what. Let them try to be black, no matter how much I look at some of them with disdain. Nigga has been a word that blacks understood for a long time; something that we carried with us after segregation and have taken in as our own. I'm not saying its right and I'm not saying it's wrong, but a lot of people say we need to shake it as if it was given to us from whites to call each other.
