Well, he's not a hack bastard so much as he knows what gets him ratings and hits.
 
I need a 3rd choice.

Informed, but non-intuitive.
 
yeah intuative was not the word i was looking for nor did I spell it correctly time to go watch the game now and take some more bong hits and drink some deschutes brewing buzzsaw
 
Not knowing his mother, I can't say he is a bastard, but he is certainly a hack, and a tabloid gossip columnist moonlighting as a sports writer.
 
I would have gone with sensationalist and opinionated, but not a hack
 
Just saw him in the media room at halftime interviewing KP! KP should have head butted him!
 
LAZY HACK! Without a doubt. Many times he doesnt do the research to back up his story... especially when it comes to the CPA/Salary cap.
 
always been a hack...plays nicie nicie since Mr. Allen pays him for his radio show...but now has turned on the Blazers yet again...he reminds me of a self-rightous firebrand preacher!
 
There are certain types of people in the world that I have no respect for. He is that type. The people that are so full of shit that even when they occasionally say something that is true you have a hard time agreeing with them. I emailed him a few times in his first years with the Oregonian. I give him credit for responding, but his arguments were so obviously weak you knew he didn't even believe them.

And ever since I heard his voice on the radio it is even harder. I really tried to give him the benefit of the doubt when he started and I was able to pick his show up on the internet. But listening to him made me hate him even more so I stopped. What can i say...he is new school and i am old school in terms of what I like from the media.
 
This just in Canzano poll a landslide it has been determined by voting by the members of this forum that Mr.canzano is a HACK Bastard. We now call for his resignation effective immediately. We also call for him to endure 15 minutes of pubic stoning at the flame at the rose garden on Jan 23 at 3 pm.

I think the Oregonian should come up with a 25 point pledge, saying they won't hire knobs like Canzano anymore.

Harlan Ellison related a story he had with a person who objected to his use of the word "midget" in a story or conversation or something... he told the guy, "Listen. I'm 5'5". I'm a 'little person'. You are a midget."

I don't hate Canzano as much as some, I listen to his show a lot while driving, but his piece on KP in Sunday's O was not a good one. He quotes some bitter bottom-feeding Western Conference GM, saying basically "fuck KP and his moves".
It was a terrible piece trying to squash what KP has done for this franchise.

I found it interesting that his article basically gave credence to the Blazers point, and contradicts what Canzano was saying earlier.


So, par for the course I guess.

I think we should send him an email explaining his ethical duties as a journalist and if he crosses them this board will take him to court.

That should shut him up . . .

That's because Harlan Ellison is an angry old man.

Also, Canzano gets paid WAY too much for his hackery. If someone paid me six figures to write about local sports, I would do a way better job. I have a feeling the same could be said about many people on this board.
 
The problem with Canzano is that he actually has some talent.

That said, his forte is to either kick people when they're down (even if he just praised them a week before) or to out & out lie. So he'l go article after article being a liar and kicking people and then, poof, he will write an excellent article. About one per month.

It's a shame that he totally wastes his talent.
 
Canzano would be a good human interest columnist if he stuck to that and only that. The problem is when he tries to write articles about the NBA with actual NBA facts but butchers those facts then doesn't own up to them (or discreetly changes his blog without admitting his mistakes).

I saw it as an indictment on the level of business acumen that KP's competitors possess compared to the Blazer GM. :dunno:
 
I want him to get out of town he is bad for the BLAZERS and a negative image to good reporters everywere
