pot is like codeine that you smoke guys, and its smell drowns out my beers aroma

not to mention all these kids on my lawn

Hey MarAzul

You and I see eye to eye on most things. To correct a few misconceptions, the guys that grow are not targeting children. That is more of an intercity gang thing, and more often it is crack, not weed. For the most part , kids do not have the money till they are in high school and working or more often in collage before they are experimenting with drugs.

I have also seen the bars in Alaska in the 70s and 80s it was the wild fucking west..Ketchican had 28 churches and 34 bars with only 13 miles of road..the nice thing if the smoke got too thick you could walk down the street to the next watering hole. Hahahha The Islands were worse..

Dunno if you have spent any time in that pot culture, but the growers I know are above board or extremely private, they dont chase children around to sell them a joint..that is the fucking media sponsored bull shit .. take a look at some of the recent studies being conducted and revisit the legit studies done in Israel, the shit that has been perpetrated by the Fed is absolutely fictitious. Just like declaring it a schedule one drug because they had not enough information on it...pfffft

I would much rather have someone I love smoke weed rather than drink.. that includes my parents..my children and my grand children..

you would think this would end the argument...would you rather have your teenage daughter go to a party where

A: people were smoking the pot
B: people were getting wasted drunk

in before "neither, my daughter would never do such things!"

If the same question had been asked of me a month ago, and all I had was 30 and 40 year old knowledge, I would have said B, Thing is, its not just a bunch of old hippies on a half acre out door grow, running around with guns..things have changed a lot..

This. Most are either growning for themselves or for dispensaries. It's not like your average marijuana user/grower is spending their days figuring out ways to ruin children's lives...

That's cool smoke all you want, grow all you want. I just don't want it sold or given to the kids, period. I don't want the State focusing on collecting taxes on it either.

You are kinda slow son, anybody on my lawn was trespassing long before they got to the lawn.

But you did get a little bit, a good beer has a nice aroma compared to some weed.

dont you mean my post is kinda slow?

personal attack! violent alcoholic!

Its not just Colorado, the MJ overdoses are happening all over the country. When will freedom take back over and save us from ourselves.

This poor dog ate a rice crispy treat laced with pot.

The dog lived.

yeah..I have to agree with you about protecting children. Treat it the same as alcohol. As much as I despise the industry that government has become, I feel it needs to be brought out into the open. Any commercial grow should be taxed the same as any other business.

I see people making comparison of pot to alcohol in all these discussions. I can't really see the connection. Pot's more like codeine that you smoke. If smoking cigarettes are bad and raises everyones ire, how the hell does pot smoking come in as Ok?

Anyone ever been in a place where the pot smoke is heavy? It's fucking terrible, had to leave a Willie Nelson shindig once due to pot smoke out of control. Then there was this bar in Hyder Alaska, a lawless place you can only get to by boat from the US. A road in from Canada but hardly used and sure not by any US law. One bar in the town and the whole dam town is in there daily getting wasted. Pot smoke too thick to possibly test if the beer smells Ok. Utopia I suppose for a pot head but what a fucking waste of humanity.

I will vote against this everyday. Hell I want to see the fuckers that sell this shit to kids hung, not make the it legal. Don't give me this crap that it is better than alcohol, hell I have fired people that were devoted to pot and not their job. Saved a few in rehab from alcohol but never had a successful rehab from pot.

I know for a fact anti-tobacco state programs are also anti-marijuana smoking.

Won't somebody think of the children!!

I mean, who the hell is advocating selling it to kids? Seems kind of strawman-ish

No one is advocating for it. The issue is now that it's so available, the kids can access it easily. The kids in CO that are overdosing on edibles took it from their parents and/or grandparents and then distributed it in school.

I know you don't give a shit what I say, but, I'll care more about all of your allegations about how bad it is and all of the horrors going on when you back them up.

We are seeing more symptoms because some of these products have very high amounts of marijuana in them," Wang said. "You get such a high dose on such a small child, the symptoms are more severe."

As with many similar poisonings, treatment is limited to supportive care and waiting until the marijuana clears the system, he said.

Children recover quickly in most cases, Wang said. "They don't need more than a day or two of hospitalization," he said. "There were no deaths or lasting side effects."

worst case scenario, shall we look at what alcohol provides for stats? Or how about glue? Paint? Do you remember when kids ate jipson seeds? Sucked the contents off whip cream cans..bud there are hundreds of ways to abuse anything.

Really Maxie, I am not being glib.

I love when the problem becomes the object, and not the fact that these parents didn't raise their little shits not to take things that aren't theirs....well they didn't die from ODing on weed, but I hope they learned a valuable lesson that even as an adolescent you are still required to be a respectful member of society.

I definitely see the danger though. Taking too much of a cheeba chew will really mess you up. You see the same with guns and alcohol though. Do you blame either of them when a kid steals it from their parent?

Agreed. My point is that small kids generally don't like tequila shots, but do like chocolate chip cookies that are made with THC oil.

I'm assuming kids have never heard of Baileys? Tuaca? Buttershots? Peppermint Schnapps?

My wife's liquor cabinet when she was my girlfriend was basically candy flavored alcohol.

The parents are definitely responsible in all cases. There was a lock on the bar cabinet when I was growing up. Guns were kept in the gun safe.

However, try selling a bottle of booze or a Glock at school. It's pretty obvious. Selling a pot brownie? That's not something teachers or administrators can monitor until it's too late.

Just give the heavily armed school guard a drug sniffing dog. Problem solved.
