Is Kanter just what Nurkic needed?

No he probably not worried about losing his job but he could be worried about his minutes this year though. Nurk will have to produce or he might gets his minutes wack because Stotts has done that time to time to him this year especially when Zach playing really good in the middle.

If I'm getting paid, and the guy who's my competition is leaving, I'm not losing any sleep.

Collins has had some good moments defensively, but he doesn’t have the strength to fight off the tougher inside players and he can’t keep out of foul trouble. I’m hoping he turns into something great eventually, but right now he doesn’t have the muscle, the scoring ability, or the rebounding prowess of Kanter.

I think thats a product of everyone expecting ZC to be a center. IMO his best position is PF and his most consistent games were with ML or PhysEd at center. He's just a longer version of most PF today.

Yep. Kanter is a stop gap to allow Collins more time to improve. Hood is needed long term.

We have a bigger long term need for a contributing wing than we do a Center in my opinion. Thus the long term need. Can he be replaced sure, but if we lose him he needs to be replaced.

There are three Kanter threads, and they're all different to me. One is just about Kanter being a Blazer, one is about Kanter's impact on Nurk, and one is about the possibility of keeping Kanter beyond this season. I see no issue.

The arrival of Enes Kanter may have lit a fire under Nurkic, based on last night’s game. Now Nurkic can’t rest on his laurels anymore. He has to play his butt off every night, or Stotts will send in Kanter who may make him look bad. I think Nurk can go all out knowing that if he gets into foul trouble, he has an awesome compatriot to sub in for him.

Trio it is. Add in Collins and that's a lot of flexibility

What? Kanter is gone after this season. He's only signed until the end of this season. We don't have his bird rights. We don't have capspace to give him the contact he deserves. Nurk is on a long term contract. So nobody is worried about losing their job.

It's called going for the championship this season!

I'm not sure what effect Kanter will have on Nurk? Worked well for one night anyway. But I'm intrigued by the Kanter addition. We're never going to matchup with the Warriors on the perimeter. But now, we may have a decided advantage in the blocks. If it means we win the rebounding battle, keep them shooting jumpers only, and limiting their fastbreak scoring, and have some go to scoring options down low when we really need a bucket....who knows? I think we next need to see how they play together. Maybe they did for short stints the other night, but it seemed they largely just subbed for each other.

I believe Layman and Collins are the future Forwards of this team. I just really hope we see “the jump” from Zach in year 3. If we do a Nurk/Collins/Layman frontcourt could be very formidable.
