So I have been on and off here as I celebrate "the shot" and the Blazers moving on to the 2nd round. So maybe someone has already raised this but let's talk about Mo and his psychological defense.

Troy Daniels came to Portland and scored 9 points in game 3 and 17 points game 4. Having a huge impact on both games. Mo then gets into his head in a strange way . . .at the time I agreed with those who thought Mo was over the top and shouldn't have ended game 4 in such a classless way.

But after Mo brings attention to Daniels by way of the antics after the game, telling media he know what he did (which was nothing) and then using twitter to say he is messing with TD . . . well it appears TD did in fact feel the pressure and dipped to 5 points in game 5 and 0-2 in game 6 with no points and zero impact.

In a series where every point counts, did Mo's jedi mind tricks work TD. What would have happened if TD stayed hot or made even one shots in game 6?

Mo defensive player of the series? :)

It isn't a joke in my eyes but I don't know what happened. I think Mo fucked himself up too....

This forum hates Mo. They all long for the days of when Nolan Smith was our backup point guard.

I know, I don't get it either.

No.

And no, no one here wants Nolan Smith over Mo. That's a false choice and a troll post.

Daniels production went down because the Blazers decided to play defense on him. It was evident.

Whether or not Mo had 'gotten into his head', Daniels wasn't and would not have been the difference in this series, and therefore Mo's actions do not make him the hero of the series.

Just my 2 pesos.

HOU won game 5 handily.

McHale is the defensive player of this series. Check the minutes Daniels received in game 6.

People don't like Mo Willams because he isn't very good. Pretty simple

I'm not sure where he ended up at but at one point during the season he led all players coming off the bench in assists and steals.

I gave Mo his props for the game four win. Beyond that, I'm not going to give him much more. His horrible defense allowed Jeremy Lin to have a field day and ultimately I think was the difference giving them the win in game 5.

Mo is our best bench option and miles better than anything we had last year. I'm glad we have him available this year but its definitely a position we'll look to upgrade in the future.

He's our best bench option when he's on. When he's off he's basically a net negative.

I think mo is sexy when his game is on. We need him to be sexy all series!

Well said.

I never hear a post game interview where LA, Dame, Nico, Wes or Stotts doesn't compliment Mo and that's all I need to hear. Mo Williams played a big part in us even making the playoffs. He's injured the last couple of games and I'm with Sly, I don't get the amount of dissent he gets on the boards. Very few 6th men in the NBA are defenders. Jamal Crawford is 6th man of the year and he couldn't defend anyone

8.2 PPG | 1.8 APG | 38 FG% | 28 3PT% | 120 DRtg | 6.2 PER

Yikes, and he's the 6th man.

Point well taken after rereading the thread title..in the series he had 2 good games 2 bad games and 2 injured games with fewer minutes in the later. It's not over though..Mo will impact more games. I have faith in him.

I'll give you this: I'd rather have Mo on my team than Jamal Crawchuck. I despise that flopping bitch.

Hasn't it been determined that +/- is a joke of a stat, like a million times?

But people say our production goes down when we go to the bench but in this case, it wasn't true. Also, without Mo's steal and three pointer in Game 4, we lose the game and very likely, the series. How are you? Your son said you were in the hospital.

Good Mo was awesome; Bad Mo was atrocious. It's the beta that drives us nuts.

I respectfully disagree. His play is mercurial. You don't know what you're going to get.

All year long, Mo has been terrific for us, giving us bench hoops when no one else on the bench could score. He's not perfect, but he's damn good. Without his signing, I don't think we make the playoffs.

Offensively he is absolutely mercurial. Defensively he's just bad.

The actual numbers completely contradict what you just said. Out of all PG-SG (that played more than 900 minutes) Mo is ranked 93rd! in PER And 83rd in WS/48. To put that into context, Jaryd Bayless and Raymond Felton both played better than Mo. There is a different between Mercurial and just not very good.
