Is Nurkic the Best Midseason Acquisition in Team History?

And Nurkic is special in that he's completely reinvigorated what had been a thoroughly dead season.

It's hard to think of a better midyear upgrade:

• 22 years old
• Cheap contract
• Defensive anchor
• He may be the best screener we've ever had (has he been called for a moving screen yet?)
• 7'3, 280lb, yet shockingly nimble
• Great pick and roll defender
• Bounces his former team out of the playoffs to get us in
• That extra first round pick
• Cost us a mediocre player we were losing anyway

Hard to see how this could have gone better for us.

Nurkic is force on glass in paint , Jokic is more have guard quality and much more gentle touch . Duck was a midseason trade for Mychal Thompson. But I think Nurk has the potential to be the best....if he stays long term

They are very young team and they lack a leader at this time. Not sure Malone is the type of coach who can motivate certain players.
And more importantly....they were not patient enough to give it a chance. Plus I think Malone likes the spread 4 option with Gallo better.

You see Jokic try and guard the pick and roll last night? Nurkic ain't much better either, but he's in a conservative system that allow him to sit back in the paint and chill. If they were on the court together, that wouldnt work, and obviously Nurkic is too talented to be a backup, so he was justifiably upset.
