You're lucky PapaG never figured out your real name. Ask Sly and Ed O about how that worked out.
I've left plenty of bread crumbs in these threads so if he really wanted to, he should have been able to track me down. And I was the one who caused him to explode one of the last times and get kicked out (brought back one last time) so I'm a little surprised I never found him pacing outside my bedroom window.

Honestly, if he really did try to track down others outside of these boards, he should have never been let back into the community even once. He had more second chances than anyone should.

I am Papa G.

I figured that whole thing was the reason why you moved to Walla Walla. #runforyourlife

Wow, a Carmenere fan, that's awesome. I love that wine too. There are a few odd varietals around that are always fun to try. Another great but rare wine you can try next time you are in WW is the Counoise at Tamarack. You need to ask for it, they have it but they will break it out for you if you ask. It's awesome, and there is only about 11 acres of it planted in America. It tastes kind of like a fruity pinot without the bitter notes. It is a tasty one. For fun white wines, I like the Albariño's around the valley, at Adamant (which I enjoy too), Palencia and Flying Trout. The Palencia winery has some very tasty wines for great value too. And lastly, your choice of Saviah is also one of my favorites. Knowing your tastes, I would also suggest Buty, Roté, Tamarack and Va Piano.

The wine I opened last night was drop dead gorgeous, it is a Cab Franc Merlot blend from Buty. About $50 it was easily one of the top 10 recent vintage wines I've had since moving to WW.
So, on NYE I was perusing our wine collection to find something to pair with the dinner I was making, and wouldn't you know it we happened to have a bottle of this. We must have tasted it at Tamarack in June. At first taste, I thought it was a little bitter. Then I paired it with some cheese and it was quite good. It really brought out some of the other tastes to the front of your palate. Perhaps my palate is not very developed. We must have liked it when we tasted it or I am sure we would not have had a bottle of it (unless it came in a wine club shipment). I sort of recall the tasting room attendant giving us a taste of something more reserved.

I remember when I figured out PapaG's real name and posted it on here and he flipped. It was hilarious.

I remember when he SENT me his real name and I accused me of stalking him when I called him by his first name in a post.

I think we should trade about 10 on this board for PapaG to return.

Well my tastes aren't always appreciated by others (and that goes way past wine). I love super reductive ferment Syrah's and green pepper tasting Carmenere. I really love that Counoise but it's a different wine for sure. There are certain flavors that are best the first time you taste them, and others that grow on you, and build to a crescendo of savory bliss. I tend to go for the unique and interesting over the immediate enjoyment. I'd rather have a savory crepe with spinach, ham and gruyere over a dessert crepe of Nutella and banana. That's not to say Nutella and banana aren't great, just not my jazz. When tasting 25-100 wines a week, the awkward becomes the awesome. For good or bad.

I like a wine that you can serve with most anything. That's why my favorite wine is Jack Daniels.

She just got back into town, I'll see her on Sunday. Not planning on pushing it after all, but open to it if the moment seems right. Just don't want to fuck up my social circle. Besides, got a date with a 36 year old middle school teacher I met, whose not too involved with any of my circles.

Damn, she teaches jr high? Going into it you know she's got patience, she also probably doesn't take any bullshit.

everyone in here has a PapaG story.

go.... to hell?

The amount of drama on this board has dropped at least 99% since he was booted.
Yeah, but it was a nice balance watching him go against the social justice warriors of s2. Now all the arguments just have Denny writing novels and calling people dense.
