Is the Blazers locker room chemistry as good as they make it out to be?

I was wondering if maybe there are some issues between Blazers team mates that are just not making it out to the press. The guys on the team are not playing like guys who are really pulling for one another. Defense, which most everybody has been lamenting about is a lot about team mates helping each other and putting out the effort. Covering for each other. On the offensive side of the ball, I am seeing players not getting the ball passed to them, no plays ran for them, and some players deciding they need to get a shot and just jack up a 3 when better shots are available. It raises questions:

Is the PG battle starting to tear the team apart?

Are some player confused about how they fit in?

Are players not buying in?

Are certain guys getting froze out of the offense?

Have the players turned the coach off? Have they turned all the coaches off?

All we hear out of the Blazer PR machine is everything is great, and bake it. But that'as all you expect to hear from the propeganda machine isn't it?

Either the pieces we have aren't as good as we would like to believe, or the pieces just don't fit together correctly.

OTOH, if there is strife in the locker-room, I hope it stays there. When players/coaches take their disputes to the media, the situation just gets worse.

I don't think there's much break down in locker room chemistry, but clearly their on court chemistry is not there at times ... I'm leaning toward "wrong pieces" not wrong attitude at this point.

yet ive been blasted for saying since november we need a trade

its real simple...

sergio is not a good player

batum isnt starting material cause he doesnt score/making open threes

outlaw is a complete hit or miss...either makes huge plays or kills you...usually it kills ya

fix those problems and things will be fine

Yea kind of interesting you bring that up. You know that situation earlier this season with Sergio and his agent that came into the press and then was swept under the rug. That is another indicator that everything is not so great.

I agree with you Mixum. I would give my left nut for a few more consistent players. I also would really like to see the Blazers get a few players with some "Nasty" in them. Too many nice guys on this roster.

exactly. How would I really know about what goes on in the locker room unless some jerkoff (like Damon) is pointing fingers. Thankfully thats not happening. Because this is not happening doesn't mean we should assume everything is peaches and cream.

Nate i think has lost his players....nate dont want to talk contracts maybe he wants to move on....

I'll throw this out there, as it is a chemistry thing as well. Maybe all of the trade rumors are starting to wear on players as well. Different players handle it in different ways. Maybe some are not.

This is, and always has been, a year dedicated to "developing the team", yet for some strange reason people want to fire nate, question the system that has been winning 10+ more games per year the last 3 years and trade or bench assets that haven't even been playing on the roster consistently for a year.

Everything is fine, with this young of a team it's a learning experience that as fans we are going to have to suffer through.

with that said, it's time to send Raef, Sergio, Travis, and one of channing, ike, Shav packing and get a Point Guard who can fight through picks, has great court vision and can dish to Oden.

It looks to me like S Blake is being missed. I suspect that BRoy misses him. Sergio isn't good enough defensively, and while it has taken some time, other teams are now exploiting that fully. Bayless isn't yet a good enough distributor, so there is less passing and less movement on offense when he gets the ball. Hopefully that will improve in the next two years, but for now, neither backup PG is complete enough to run a playoff team.
