Is There a Conspiracy With NBA Refs?

A good test to this theory would be to look at Tim Duncan. MVP calibur player, future HOF, 4x NBA champion. Sure, he plays in the big state of Texas but he's still in San Antonio, nonetheless.

Anyways, here's a vid of fouls from Saturday's game. It's obviously biased but it's worth watching for the terrible officiating.

Rep'd

But darn depressing.

You really oughta be banned. Get the fuck outta here.

Please tell me you meant to write that in green font. Mamba's good people. He just like to jerk our chains just as we jerk his. It's good, friendly banter. He's no troll.

Besides, I would hate to take away his only portal to the outside world from his prison cell...

I know he's "good people". I just wanted to yank on his banter. Perhaps I was over the top a bit.

Mamba, I apologize.

Now, stay away.

holy shit, what a fucking joke...

my new idea is that if we are going to get charged for fouls, might as well make them count and fucking beat the shit out of dirk the whole 4th quarter

This is exactly what the team should do.

Assume any contact is going to be a foul and just lay that dude out over and over again.

Any team that doesn't have a superstar player needs to beat the absolute shit out of the other team to have a chance.

That is an angle I had not considered. Repped. The refs may be making a concious effort to NOT give Kobe and Co. the normal superstar calls in retaliation for the "Fucking ***got" episode. We'll see if this carries over to Game 2, or was a one-time middle-finger to the Lakers from the ref corp.

At this point looks like the refs are staying with it. In their second game, although Kobe shot 8 free throws, New Orleans overall shot 10 more than the Lakers. I watched only the 2nd half but the referees seemed to particularly focus on Kobe, any 50-50 calls went against him. He was visibly incensed about two calls and even got a technical for his reaction.
