Is there anyway the Blazers sign Kevin Durant?

He will be after next year.

Which is why I think everyone is saying he'll opt out of any 2 year deal at year 1.
That only works if he stays at Thunder really, because he wouldn't have bird rights if he went elsewhere for 1 year.

But the cap will be jumping again in 2017 (current projection $111M), so many teams will likely have large amounts of cap space again next summer. Even if he played this season at the minimum, he'd make more on a 4 year deal with 4.5% escalators starting at 35% of the cap next year than he would on a 5 year deal with 7.5% escalators starting at 30% of this year's cap.

You guys are kidding yourselves if you think that Durant is a beta. Coaching, teamwork and outside shooting were the difference between the Warriors and the Thunder. It's not Durant's fault that Westbrick doesn't shoot like Curry. Or pass like Curry. Or that the Thunder only trusted 7 guys to play so that they ran down in the second half of the last 3 games.

I thought you couldn't talk to free agents until after the entire season was over? Is Pop having a senior moment or something or is he self sabotaging because he knows he is retiring this year?

"Fez Hammersticks, post: 3913048, member: 20966"] And the call the Blazers unluckiest team ever?

Why would that video disprove your claim?
Maybe he means that video just proves taking Oden was dumb. We're almost all dumb because I'd have taken Oden.

(Now in hindsight I might have had Maurice Lucas give Oden a half strength shot to the lower body. If we'd have broken him before the draft we could have made the right choice)

As long as he doesn't return to OKC or go to the Spurs it's a win for us. Would allow us to get the 3rd or 4th seed.

So

Won't " Thou name who shall not be spoken" be upset Pop has someone on the side or is it an open relationship between those two?

He's got a name. Texas Turncoat.

Call that MF TT for short.

That hurts. I mean bro... That really hurts... :goth:

Yeah, it does. But our team is beginning anew with Olshey, Stotts, Dame and company. We are in a good place with a solid core. :)

We'll see who we can land during FA and possibly acquire a draft pick. These are exciting times with our Blazers, buddy!

Maybe they can send @HCP Jr. to ask him for his autograph.

John Wall Giving Kevin Durant Space Ahead Of Free Agency

The Washington Wizards have been planning to pursue Kevin Durant for several seasons but they missed out on the playoffs and took a step backwards in 15-16.

The Wizards had been considered a potential destination for Durant as his hometown and with their core of Wall and Bradley Beal.

Wall and Durant have formed a good friendship over the years and he's been outspoken about wanting to play with him.

"If he comes, he comes, if not, got to make other plans," Wall said. "But that’s something I haven’t talked to him about. I’m not willing to right now. He just came off a tough series. I’m trying to give him a couple of weeks, a month off, to think about what he wants to do."

The Wizards also hired Scott Brooks as head coach, who worked with Durant for several seasons with the Thunder.

I don't think he is going to Washington. Boston seem the most likely destination IMO if he leaves Oklahoma which I don't think he will.

Olshey could sel Portland to him but it will be tricky. Will we have enough cash to still get a center like Mahinmi if we give Durant a max deal and he accepts?

If he is truly good friends with Wall like this article suggests.....A Wall, Beal, Durant, Gortat. Markeif Morris is not a bad starting line up..........if he gets along with Morris. And if he liked Scotty Brooks as a coach.

I doubt he is coming here, so i am kind of rooting he goes home to Washington.

Yeah that's definitely a very good line up and immediate East Championship contenders. I like Gortat, think he could have achieved more but he will probably remain the best ever Polish player for a good while (not sure any Pole will get drafted for a while).
