I just said essentially the same thing to a mod on a PM. There is a difference between real debate and debate created because someone wants to piss people off and just be a sh** stirrer. No fun, that.

That's one reason I've stopped posting. And its August.

I assume you're talking about a certain poster whose recent threads are:

"Who loves entourage?" (Blazers OT)
"OT: When healthy, D Wade is the best player in the NBA"
"Did any of you play college sports?" (Blazers OT)
"Gods brother is a beast at arkansaw"

Or, you could have your own mental ignore button. There are posters to whom I just don't bother replying. They're not interested in real discussion, so when I see their moniker or avatar I just go to the next post.

And as hard as it is for me to believe, I have the sneaking suspicion some people do that with me.

Is there anything keeping posters here from creating/administrating their own Blazer-themed board to compete with this board? I'm just happy to have this place to get Blazer news, and if I have to sift through post after post complaining about other posts, I consider it a very minor thing. As a veteran of Blazer boards for more than a decade, and also some other boards, I feel this place is about as good as it gets.

I think maybe the combination of it being August and not much happening in the world of hoops, and the constant creation of threads and posts that are a complete waste of time by a certain poster have made me consider taking some time off from here. Most of you could probably care less, but the constant bullshit on here is getting old!

Agreed! If a members intent is clearly to disrupt, create chaos, litter the board with nonsense, yet still technically stay inside the rules of the board, they should still be banned, or at least have their nonsensical threads deleted.

It's about intent. Not rules, IMO. The intent is there, so the rules should be bent to enhance the quality of the board.

Not that I'm going anywhere anyway. Short of a mass exodus, I'm staying.

This site ain't done. It's going to explode once the season rolls around. Can't wait.

I can't wait either. There's going to be 6 or 8 powerhouse teams next season (Lakers, Celtics, Cavs, Magic, Blazers, Spurs, Nuggets, Mavs) and a lot of young entertaining teams (Warriors, Thunder etc.)

There should be a lot of player movement as well with the changes to the cap space and teams making last minute efforts to be a participant in the 2010 free agent class.
