Given this Blazers team is not supposed to be considered a rebuilding team anymore?

Well, to be fair, his post did take "rebuilding teams" out of the comparison. But since "rebuilding" isn't an on/off state, it's hard then to know what teams to compare this one to. It might be the worst expensive team in team history.

That is what I meant and I agree.

Even then we'll be hard-pressed to out suck the '05 team which had Miles, Ratliff, and Randolph all underachieving on new contracts. They tanked the end of the season and finished 27-55.

That's true, that is a good contender. This team is more expensive (relative to the cap), I think, but it's unlikely to finish with as bad a record. Unless they, too, tank the end of the season.

Then you should have used a title for the thread that matched what you meant.

You chose the thread title: "Is this the worst Blazers team ever assembled?".

The answer to that question is simple: no, not even close.

Maybe you should have asked, "Is this the most disappointing Blazers team ever assembled?". Because, it sounds like that's really what you meant to ask.

It's worse than last year's team, which means the personnel changes made this summer were negative on the whole and need to be corrected quickly if it's not too late.

Frankly, none of them made sense to me.

worst by far

not by that far, 05-06 we went 21-61 dead last in the West.

how you ask?

Steve Blake, Juan Dixon, Jarrett Jack, Viktor Khryapa, Voshon Lenard, Darius Miles, Travis Outlaw, Joel Pryzbilla, Zach Randolph, Theo Ratliff, Ha Seung-jin, Brian Skinner, Sebastian Telfair, & Martell Webster

honestly, that team shouldnt have been that shit.

spookily enough, thats the same feeling i have for our current team.

Dead last in team Def Rtg and second to last in Off Rtg.

Imagine this year's defense with MEM's offense.

Our current scoring differential is -4. That team's was almost -10. To put that in perspective, last year PHI was 10-72 with a scoring differential of -10. And, as bad as things seem right now, we've already won 3 more games that PHI won all of last season.

That team was dead last, 30th of 30, in Off Rtg and 28th of 30 in Def Rtg.

Not coincidentally, they were also 30th of 30 in attendance.

so were pacing well with them as far as the def efficiency?

05-06 was 1.087 this group is 1.099

my god.

Yes, but that team had two elite rim protectors in Joel Przybilla and Theo Ratliffe.

This team has none. And if their interior defense was so much better than this year's team, imagine how bad their perimeter defense must have been.

That team had a whole lot of mediocre going on. They had 12 players that played more than 1000 minutes, all of them had PER between 11.5 and 16.9.

This year's team is MUCH better at the top (three players with PER above 19), but worse at the bottom end of our rotation (4 of our top 10 players have PER less than 10).
