It doesn't bother ME a bit. I find it hilarious that anyone would pretend the word didn't catch because of the way it sounds.

I didn't think that was it, really. It's that Kim Jong Un used an English word to insult Trump that most of us had never heard before, that was the charm of it. Not that it rhymed with retard. If he'd called Trump a snollygoster it would have been just as good.

Well, to be honest. Trumpet is no doubt intended to be and insult. An Insult posted in S2 intended for a very few.

Then in response I posted this;
"
Trumpets? I suppose there are not too many here hey?
Well fool, I reject your assumption. These kids are acting out like lefties that stole some gear."

It got edited to this;

"SlyPokerDog is a fool!"

A very one sided edit by @SlyPokerDog.

Saying there are "Trumpets" in the forum isn't really a personal insult.

Calling someone a fool is a personal insult.

Why see it as an insult? What does the label imply to you?

Do you think it is an incorrect evaluation?
Oh! I am so glad to hear I am wrong. I had no idea the term was meant to be an expression of friendship.

If this is true, then I would immediately apologize profusely for calling the man a fool for his attempt to be friend few that would answer to this call.

I made no statements one way or another. I simply asked a question.

What does the label of "Trumpet" imply to you?

Trumps family name from his grandparents in Germany is Drumpf...they changed it to Trump in New York to Anglicize it....so to those offended I'm happy to start using the original form Drumpfette instead of Trumpette….just let me know so the snowflakes don't melt too fast....(Trump is actually a "fake" American name in this case")

>>> Well I thought I already made that clear, it is intended to be some sort of pejorative.

I made no statements one way or another. I simply asked a question.

>>> Yeah well, thanks for asking.

"You own this Trumpets. Fucking reprehensible"
This is another example of from the same fellow. I gather the asshole has no love for Trumpets.

Actually the post is foolish, jumping to support a faked incident and wrongfully disparaging Trump supporters all in one dumb ass post.

Well he is also a fake president, :biglaugh:

You know river, Your posts present as quite flaky. One day the likable almost friendly sort. Then the next hostile and anti American.
You ought to get your butt down to the MarAzul someday, and see first hand if you think this old American is going to melt. Take your time,
the invite has been standing.

There is a group of female supporters of Trump that call themselves the Trumpettes.

So I don't think everyone sees it as an insult.

Of course anything can be an insult if you perceive it that way, you medium-sized jet-powered rutabaga.

I understand that it's being used in a pejorative sense, just as "trump supporter" would be. My question is, put more precisely: what personal characteristic(s)--aside from "one who supports Trump" --are being implied by use of "trumpet" that would qualify it as an insult? Or do you view being called a Trump supporter as an insult in and of itself?

Then the next hostile and anti American.
this is quite a stretch ….but it's interesting that hostility and false patriotism are your emphasis here...Trump's playbook? I'm feelin' better though...heart rate has improved quite markedly

Trump supporter as an insult in and of itself?
Oh no! Too bad more of the Oregon Citizens on the logical side of history.

I suppose if a man, hating the President as he says in many ways, wants to invent a pejorative to describe the supporters of this same President,
then one ought to take him at his word. It is rather silly to expect good will and decency from one with such a dedicated position of hate.

So in my view, when writing it off as coming from a fool, this is close to being charitable. But then, if you think this is incorrect, why not have him
clarify. I think he thinks he can get by with using the term. Most of the forum will just chuckle in agreement.

Well quite frankly, I don't recall sending any hostility in your direction. Come to think of it, any thing false either.

No. Being called a Trump Supporters if a fact, spot on. No pejorative taken, even if the man thinks it is the worse of all pejoratives.

We disagree, but then you knew it.
I am quite happy with it.

Then you shouldn't have a problem with being called a "trumpet", unless you think it means something more.

lock this stupid fucking thread as why is a marzy whine fest a worthy topic in this forum as he has constantly called posters asshole, even in this thread. and then called another poster an anti American. . Man this place can really suck sometimes

CLEAN THIS SHIT UP!

Until the snoflakes from both sides thicken up the skin, the only real answer is to not insult at all.
Sad,but true.

Well of course I think it mean something more. It is meant to be an insult. Perhaps not as foul as TrumpCock Sucker, but then the intent is the same.
