I feel like everyday i read at least 1 article saying the blazers need oden to be special to get to the playoffs. I mean i think he helps but nobdoy is gonna convince me that dallas, denver, Sac, GS are better then portland. I'm sure they get tired of the same stuff over and over from the usual suspects.

Would it be deserved if I started bumping a certain poster's draft the stash threads and pointing and laughing on a regular basis at how hilariously wrong their condescending posts were in hindsight? I personally recall being called a dipshit and a lot of other names for not foreseeing Adam's brilliant NBA career... am I justified in calling that poster similar names or do the rules apply? What if several on the board started mocking that poster as a closet Laker fan in response to any post they made because Adam now wears purple n piss? If several on the board are mocking that poster, it's okay right?

Of course not. It doesn't matter why a poster might not like another or whats been said in the past, the rules still apply. Sure the mods don't catch every violation, but that doesn't signal it's open season on that poster. How about instead of trying to justify an exception to the rules, we respect each other, save our unpaid mods the drama and talk some hoops? Do they really need to escalate things and suspend some posters who can't abide by our simple rules? I'm sure the mods and the vast majority of the board would appreciate it if we could exercise a little self policing here.

MIXUM starts threads with newsworthy information all of the time. I would bet that he does it more often than any single poster with the possible exception of ABM.

Does he put in his own opinion, often with a negative spin? Sure. But the board exists for opinions to be floated and that includes negative ones.

And I don't understand the "I told you so" here... at the point that he started this thread, he believed that the team WOULD make the playoffs. And his opinion from that time is looking like it will be proven correct, even if his current one appears to be weak sauce.

He always reminds me of Norton, the last serial killer Agatha Christie's hero Poirot caught. The guy didn't actually kill people himself, but he knew how to say things to others to push just the right button to drive somebody to murder. Great murder mystery.

Instead of committing murder, though, mixum somehow goads normally rational posters into saying the most annoying damned things that are clear violations of forum rules. They've been remarkably consistent. They had some weaker stretches in the middle of the season, but never a prolonged down stretch that took them out of anything except the "race" for the 1 seed.

I did say "most teams" have them. But yeah, I expected a stretch of several (more than two) weeks where they went below .500 over that stretch, which I don't think ever happened.
