Holy crap that is easily the worst officiated game I have seen in recent memory. Are you fucking kidding me?

The blatant missed call when Morrow tugged Rudy's jersey on the inbound was the icing on the shitcake.

What a joke.

I can't wait until that joke of a basketball team in Golden State comes to Portland so we can give them a true whipping when they aren't getting the benefit of some ridiculous home court officiating.

Horrible. David Stern should be ashamed of his league after that display.

Not like it will do any good, but I actually did send them an email. Maybe if enough of us do it, it might at least prompt them to give those officials one less gold star on their annual review.

What a fucking joke.

I also sent them a email but it won't do any good. The NBA hasn't done anything about officials yet and that is after the Donaghy fix.:sigh:

I wouldn't typically send a mail, cuz it's a waste of time, but I'm still fuming over the game, so I let 'em have it.

fwiw, here's what I posted:

one expects officiating to be uneven, but over the long term it should balance out. The officiating in the 11/18/08 portand/gs game was ridiculous and completely unbalanced. It is not simply the last call of the game, which was wrong and won the game for gs. Throughout the game, particular prejudice was systematically displayed against aldridge. The game definitely brings the integrity of the nba into question.

I also sent an email! I still can't talk. I don't want anyone to talk to me. UNREAL! Tomorrow we need to boo the hell out of the refs.

I gave them my two cents as well.

One of the guys I work with told me that the line for this game moved "suspiciously" (as he called it)

He didn't bet on it but I live in Vegas and tons of people here do, so he just thought I should know that we were in for trouble.

How the line moved and why, I don't really know but I thought it was bullshit when he told me to not be surprised if we lost. :dunno:

Dear Whomever told us that Donaghy was an isolated incident,

I have been a fan of the Portland Trailblazers since I was eight years old and this goes back to the days of Clyde Drexler, Terry Porter, etc. I just watched the end of an exciting match-up between Golden St. and Portland.

I have never seen such an obvious attempt at favoritism. Bob Delaney needs to investigated for his role in the Blazers' loss. I'm sure you will be able to see the review of the game on tape and I recommend it.

That was the most inappropriate technical foul call I have EVER seen. Rudy Fernandez was being pulled by his jersey for a good two steps yet it is he who is called for the foul. This is with less than ten seconds in the game and where with a proper call, the score would've had a 94%(Rudy's free throw percentage) of being tied. Instead, Delaney calls a phantom foul on Fernandez and compounds it by calling the WORST and MOST INAPPROPRIATE technical foul call that I have ever seen.

I don't see how you guys plan to win NBA fans back after hiring such piss-poor officials. Delaney needs a suspension.

Signed,

Disgusted in Portland

P.S.

I know it sounds amateurish. Forgive me, I am tired and depressed. <---- That excuse never worked with my ex-girlfriend when I tried to win her back.

I wish these ref's had a Myspace page, I'd so leave them horrible comments.

Seriously though, I haven't seen a worse officiated game in a long time. Absolutely horrible.

what the fuck was that bullshit!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH so pissed

This is just adding insult to injury:

Morrow then fumbled the ball out of bounds, and Travis Outlaw hit one free throw -- but referee Bob Delaney called Outlaw for a lane violation on the next shot, which would have cut Golden State's lead to one. Fernandez then was called for holding on the inbounds play, and the Spanish star compounded his obvious foul by drawing a technical foul for arguing.

I must've been watching a different game.

No you should dip your head in a woodchipper, just to see if anything falls out. J/K... Or am I... Hmmm...

What are you guys?!? Lakers fans??? :devilwink:

Nope. The L*kers never get jobbed by the refs. Don't forget the official underwear of NBA officials--it's purple and gold. If a call can be made to benefit the L*kers, they'll make the call.

Michael Holton, aside from being the worst color commentator ever, can bite me with his defense of the officials right now. I'd tell him to go back to coaching if he wasn't so inept at that too.

you're right...

the last call should of been a no-call because both players were holding.

fine, OK, no call because both were holding. THEN, MORROW GRABBED RUDY'S JERSEY. A HAND FULL OF JERSEY WITH A CLOSED FIST --> FOUL, probably a breakaway foul.

Emailed in as well, fwiw.

Frustrating game, to say the least. But I guess try to keep this in perspective, it's 1 game out of 82. Just hope some bullshit like this doesn't occur in the playoffs. Holton just said on the 5th quarter that the call on Rudy was the ballgame, and I totally agree. Bad, bad, bad, bad call.

Also, Golden State played the game of their life tonight. I don't know what it was, but if they played this good every night, they would be a top seed in the playoffs. 33/35 from the FT line, scrappy and energized on defense throughout the night, and a solid shooting night. :sigh:
