Wow. Isreal is pissed and Lebenon and Syria are fucking in the shit now. If there is one country in the world you do NOT want to piss off, it's Isreal. That county has some serious ass-kicking ability, and unlike the US and Britian, the media doesn't prevent them from doing so. 60 years of terrorism, suicide bombings, and murders are apperantly enough, if anyone but me has been paying attention to the news, especially in the last 24 hours.Israel's Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Dan Halutz, told Israel's Channel 10, "If the soldiers are not returned, we will turn Lebanon's clock back 20 years." If Syria and Iran are aiding Hezbolla and Lebenon, then we will see World War III unleashed, because you know damn well that if they are involved, ole GW will come to Isreal's aide. He's looking for a reason to start shit with Iran, and he might have it now.

Hell no Israel can't kick ass if they're getting attacked from every direction by Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and Iran. Those may not be superpowers but shit its 4 against 1. If bush goes in to help Israel, say hello to WWIII. *sigh*.. World war 3= Draft and since i'm getting to be that age... i would be fucked. Please tell me this isn't happening. Lebanon is such a beautiful country too. It would be terribly sad to see war break out there.

I think North Korea is a bit higher on the priority list then getting involved in the middle east again.

Israel is what got us into the bullshit with the middle east. Besides, as Adrop said, we have North Korea to worry about right now.

Israel needs to learn the phrase "proportional response." They are acting like the USSR....

Israel is a pain in the ass I wish we weren't allied to them because we are going to end up having to come to their aid and get drafted because of it.

Seriously though... Is no one seeing this chain reaction? This is going to end up in world war if it keeps its present course. Here's what happens.Israel is stupid. Palestine is also stupid. Lebanon gets pissed- therefore Syria gets pissed. War breaks out therefore Jordan gets pissed. Hezbollah inhabit parts of Iran therefore Iran sides with Lebanon, Syria and Palestine. Iraq are allies with Iran so they side with Iran. We are allied with Israel (for no good reason) so we come to their aid. We realize that this is a full scale war so we get England involved because Tony Blair is an idiot. Italy has unstable government so they jump to our aid as well. France, Germany, and most other European countries say screw you, we don't want our country f'ed up again. Bush tries as hard as he can to get Russia to side with us but they also say screw you we don't want to f up our country again. Here's the scary part. Saudi Arabia hasn't shown any sign of who they would side with. If they side with the Hezbollah, we have no import of oil at all. Therefore we attack Saudi Arabia. What's in Saudi Arabia? MECCA. We attack Mecca, it becomes a holy war Between us and the middle east+ parts of eastern europe and spain+ Half of africe. We would have to hope to god (no pun intended) that they side with us so that we still have oil to keep our economy in check and that we don't have to deal with billions of angry muslims all over the world. This is a little far fetched but if North Korea sees war I think Kim Jong Il is stupid enough to get involved. That means we are screwed from pretty much all sides getting owned by tons of countries. *sigh*This is gonna get fucked up really quick.

A third World War has nuclear warfare written all over it...

Isreal kicked the shit out of the Middle East by themselves in just 6 days before, back in the 70's. Who over there can stop them? Syria? Iran? If they get involved, then you will see US troops and machinary in Tel Aviv right next to Isreali's.The domino effect of all this is very real. Mossad belives that Syria was the masterminds behind this snatch-and-grab and the have said that they are looking hard in their direction. Iran has already said they will help Syria and fire upon Isreal. You know sure as the sun will rise in the east tomorrow, that GW will piss his pants in glee at any opportunity to knock heads with Syria or Iran. he can barely contain it whenever he's asked about it.Isreal has been taking this shit since 1948. Yet, the world always tells THEM to show restraint. restraint when some Lebanese suicide bomber walks into a mall in Haifa and kills 400 people? Restraint when members of the PLO shoot kids playing in the park? Why is Isreal always held accountable for what the rest of the Middle East does to THEM?Fuck it....do the world a favor, Isreal. Re-map the Middle East. Remove some of it, if you want.

They're just as bad in my mind. The israeli suicide bombers are walking into Palestine and blowing up innocent palestinians. No one can see that because we're allied with them. People choose to "look the other way" when that stuff happens with the other side. So you say israel has been taking this shit for so long. Well so has the rest of the middle east so fuckin deal with it and work it out instead of going to war AGAIN. What you say about bush is right though. I can see it coming from a mile away. You can tell a lot of reporters do to they just don't want to scare anyone and actually say it.

Their fighting still over some holy land. Let them take care of themselves. Instead our asshole president will probably decide to help them out. I say let them solve their own fucking problems without getting our people killed in the process.

Report: Israel gives Syria ultimatumLondon-based Arabic language newspaper Al-Hayat says Israel gave Syria 72 hours to stop Hizbullah?s activity, bring about release of kidnapped IDF troops. ?Israel will not end military activity until new situation created that will prevent Syria, Iran from using terror organizations to threaten its security,? newspaper quotes Pentagon official as sayingRoee NahmiasThe London-based Arabic language newspaper Al-Hayat reported Saturday that ?Washington has information according to which Israel gave Damascus 72 hours to stop Hizbullah?s activity along the Lebanon-Israel border and bring about the release the two kidnapped IDF soldiers or it would launch an offensive with disastrous consequences.?The report said ?a senior Pentagon source warned that should the Arab world and international community fail in the efforts to convince Syria to pressure Hizbullah into releasing the soldiers and halt the current escalation Israel may attack targets in the country.?Al-Hayat quoted the source as saying that ?the US cannot rule out the possibility of an Israeli strike in Syria,? this despite the fact that the Bush administration has asked Israel to ?refrain from any military activity that may result in civilian casualties.?'Hizbullah made the same mistake'The report also mentioned that President George W. Bush has repeatedly put much of the blame for the recent escalation on Syria. ?It is no coincidence that the Hizbullah operation comes at a time when the international community is working to impose sanctions on Iran due to its nuclear program and settle the score with Syria by establishing an international court to try those behind the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri,? the Pentagon source said.According to the source, Hizbullah made the same mistake as Hamas when it did not predict the ramifications of its actions and ignored the regional and international changes since the fall of Saddam Hussein. The source said that Israel has indicated that it ?will not end its military activity until a new situation is created that will prevent Syria and Iran from using terror organizations, such as Hamas and Hizbullah, to threaten its security.?
...and another one where the rest of the Middle East actually has the onions to CONDEM Hezbelloh and the attacks. Wow....
"Meanwhile, Lebanon sought support from fellow Arabs at an emergency session of foreign ministers in Cairo on Saturday. But sharp rifts erupted over as moderate Arab states denounced Hezbollah for starting the conflict.Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal called the group's actions ``unexpected, inappropriate and irresponsible,'' telling his counterparts: ``These acts will pull the whole region back to years ago, and we cannot simply accept them.''Supporting his stance were representatives of Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Iraq, the Palestinian Authority, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, delegates said, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the talks.Another camp, led by Syria, defended Hezbollah as carrying out ``legitimate acts in line with international resolutions and the U.N. charter, as acts of resistance,'' delegates said.Associated Press reporters Hussein Dakroub and Hamza Hendawi in Beirut; and AP photographer Nasser Nasser from south Lebanon contributed to this report."

All i can say is that there is going to be some serious fighting, and the US is most likely gonna go defend ISR.

First of all the 6 day war was in 1967, not 1978.Secondly, the global climate changes in a matter of half a decade, much less 39 years. So if you are banking on the dominance of 4 decades ago in anything, lol, I pity you in your battle.Next, after this glorious triumph that was the 6 day way, Israel spent the next 5 years locked in the War of Attrition as a result. So your 6 day war lasted for 5 years. Way to go! And clashes along the border with Lebanon lasted until 1982 for God's sake! Also, the area Israel won from these countries is the area they now occupy, they increased their borders by claiming some territories. It's not like when the Germans took over most of France, it's like when the Italians took Crete.Taking a few territories in 6 days, and then waring over them for half a decade, isn't the huge domination you claim it as.

Well, you severely underestimate the military might of Isreal, if you don't think they could repeat what they did in 1967.Pound for pound, they have the one of the worlds most powerful military's. Surrounded on three sides by people that want to wipe them out of existance, would you expect any less? It's not just dumb luck that no country in the Middle East has the onions to go at them face to face and has to find wanna-be martyr's to strap TNT to their waist and go kill them suicide-style.Isreal can, and will, seriously fuck up Syria or Lebenon or anyone else that wants to get involved with them. Doesn't matter what the global climate does. Isreal could have gone back in time 10 years and waited, and the surrounding countries would still be 30 years behind them in strength and technology and capability.

This conflict could really escalate into a WWIII if some country doesn't put an end to it now. It could very well end up being an Asia (including everyone in the Middle East except for Israel) vs. Europe/US war. I think that Russia and China would side with North Korea in this war quite simply because they aren't our friends and China is diplomatic with Kim Jong Il and we just pissed off Putin the other day and both countries are communistic countries who basically hate us but use us for trade. Japan, which we made worthless on a military standpoint after WWII is our only true Asian ally along with the miniscule Taiwan. If this does escalate, expect China to invade Taiwan, which US signed a pact to protect back in 96 I believe. So you have on front to the East on the Taiwanese, China coast, and North Korean side and the other in the European side, most likely in Germany. Germany, England, France (worthless as a war country), Italy, and probably Spain and Portugal would be fighting a war on the East. But then our armed forces isn't big enough to compete with North Korea, China, and Russia's standing army of bodies that their leaders are just throwing out to be killed anyway. Plus I wouldn't be surprised if this war came to US soil... would the national guard be strong enough? Would there really be a draft? Can we seriously take blows to NYC or LA, two serious cities important to the economy? Would the US get nuked? If this escalates, the world is in some deep shit.Remember how WWI started? Archduke Francis Ferdinand was assasinated and a mini war started, then alliances kicked in, and then a full out massive world war that put many countries billions of dollars in deficit. This conflict has an eerilly same pattern. Two Israeli soldiers kidnapped, mini war started, are alliances next? Do things really happen in circles?Oh and by the way, oil prices will hit $100 a barrel in the near future. Good time to invest your money in crude oil.

i know this is a really old topic, but, i was just going through cause i was bored, and i saw this. im sorry, but i cant believe some of you people. i was in fucking israel when the war broke out. better then that. i was in the north. better then that, the hotel next to ours was blown up. i cant believe some of you fuckers. fuck israel? are you serious? do you realize how much weaponry we actually get from israel? i bet you dont. holy crap. i cant believe what some of you said in this thread. i dont mean at all to start something up again, i was just reading through. i cant believe what some of you said. you actually support the palestinians and lebanese and the syrians? what the hell? my god....

what do you want him to do? ignore it? he has to pick a side, and Israel has better relations with the US, and more importantly, Palestine is very closely allied with the former Hussein regime, and the current Iranian regime (i cant spell their leaders name)
